isnt it ironic that blizzard is releasing the burning crusade expansion just in time for finals week. i cringe at the thought that masses of ppl trying to be the first to level 70 instead of studying. oh god where did this world go..

Finals week for you. My finals were on the first week of December. Anyways, I don't play WoW, so it doesn't matter.

I really just don't get the hype. I have never played the game, but have watched a couple of my freinds play for hours. Yeah the graphics are nice and there are some interesting things to do, but I cringe at the thought of paying a monthly fee to play a game. ( I used to pay to play when that was the only way. Any one remember Sierra's online gaming stuff about 1992? Can you say Red Baron?) I went to Fry's yesterday before the launch of the new add-on and people were lined up around the corner waiting to get in. Turns out there was plenty of kits for all and they wasted their time...

I really hate how Blizzard chose this week for a release date, my finals are next week and I am afraid I will get to caught up into the game and not study at all.

If you don't like paying for constant content updates and support, as well as maintenance to hardware and stable servers ... then don't. The business model is a little tired, but that doesn't mean it's ineffective. I predict in the coming years, we'll see more MMOs with ingame ads, etc. So you won't have to pay a sub anymore ... just have to deal with Fanta billboards in dungeons.

in dungeons shaped like the coca-cola logo. Throw in some subliminal messaging, and give the guy some Nike armour...my work here is done.

Does anyone have Burning Crusade? It's a four CD set right? What CD is what?

Yeah a 4 cd set, just like the original.

Or you can do a direct to hd download if you got the time on your hands now.

I thought the expansion wasn't as big as the original? What are the CD's? I can understand CD1 being like the install disc or something and then CD2 being the play disc, but what are the other two?

Patch files would be my guess. I'd hate to see the spaghetti code behind it--would probably make one go blind!

Are there any _actual_ mines in WoW? All I have found so far are those tiny veins in hillsides and mountains. Which by the way, are not only hard as hell to find, but once you do find one it only lasts like 10 seconds. IF of course, that is, you don't die while trying to mine it from nearby beasts. ><!

Also, how long does it take for a copper mine to replenish itself?

**I feel like a Taxi who just got shanked**

I just took a level 4 Dark Elf from the Dark Elf's first city to Iron Forge ...ON FOOT.

There are no mines as such There are mineral veins as which spawn randomly in zones or spawn re spawn after quite a wile in the same place. There are some places named "(so and so) mines" where there will be a high concentration of mineral veins like 4 or 5 but mostly these places are for grinding for a quest. You are two low level to go to any of these places yet. So just keep your looking for minerals active and keep going with your quests and you will stumble across mineral veins here are there.

When I upgrade to a paid WoW account, do I have to pay again for *Burning Crusade?

*I'm not actually buying the CD, I'm just downloading it.

What are some really valuable fish to fish for? Right now I am fishing for Sagefish and they are only worth 25c each.

I don't get WoW. It seems just like McDonalds or Burger King to me. It makes people fat.

Zephik

lol

Thats because people aren't responsible. I am somewhat chubby (180pounds), but I make sure that I don't get fat by working out here and there. I also try to eat healthy, but thats easier said than done sometimes. ^_^

As to why I play WoW, hmmm... I guess I just think its fun? I get to play out what I have always wanted in the real world too! SUPER POWERS! :D That and being a Elf is freaking awesome. :p

**also, since I live on a mountain that is pretty much derived of people and that my friends live too far away right now to visit on a regular basis, we play WoW to keep the "hanging out" factor alive. :)

***lol also again! If you watch diggnation, you know that posh (Suicide Girl) plays WoW!

I'm a level 21 Night Elf Hunter. Can I get a mount yet? When/How can I get a mount?

Oooh, also, does anyone want to enchant some of my stuff or you know, some freebies would be nice too. :p

PauL
02-28-2007, 11:04 AM
You have to be atleast lvl 40 to get your first mount which is a 60% speed increase. Since your a night elf you will buy your mount in Darnassus. Depending on how much rep you have with Darnassus the training can cost from 90-70g, then the actual horse/tiger/ram/mechano chiken will cost 8g.
