toast07.....I'd reccomend looking thru the Doom3 ( http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1&c70aae210b138379fa443540aba85a9f=fda7dcdaba9dadf43 e530ee21669d016 ) and Nighthawk ( http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28 ) worklogs and then ask more specific questions as they occur to you. Those two worklogs alone will answer what you've asked so far and probably much much more.

I cant remember exactly, but it was a type of plastic... Which he then covered in Auto bodyfiller, to smooth out.
From what i can remember anyway.. :P it should be there somewhere. But i think Crimson should get in here and tell us how its all done! :D

I just read the log and i'm not exactly sure how the first part of the skinning was done... but it says that an acrylic halfround bar was bent to make the curve at the top, and bondo was used to smooth out the skinning...
Crimson will have to fill in on how he did the skinning...

Sculpey!!!!! It's a home oven bake clay. That works wonders too!!!

Ya but if you put it on the plastic, the plastic would melt in the oven wouldn't it?

Ya but if you put it on the plastic, the plastic would melt in the oven wouldn't it?
quick steps to keep the platic from melting ...

1) use Sclupty on side pannel leaving gaps for expanding. (Shap into design that you want).
2) remove off of plastic.
3) Bake in toaster oven for 15 mins (Regular oven if toaster is being used for cooking French Bread Pizza).
4) Let Cool, no need to burn fingers or other diggits.
5) glue to plastic.
6) Use bondo to fill in gaps.
7) paint.

You may also want to hide the leeftover sculty from Kids and Other half's they tend to walk off with it.
