Budget LCD Screen

I'm putting a little LCD screen on the front of my case, but I cant afford any of the nice ones, so my plan is to hijack one of the Playstation one LCD screens seeing as you can get one of them for about 50 bucks on ebay.. what do you guys think I'm going to play a 320x240 video of HL2 on it... using the S-video/ rca type cables...

I know its been used before In case mods, just curious what everyone else thinks...

I'm even considering mounting LED's for wii compatibility in the future... :P

There was a hugely informative and detailed article on exactly how to get one of these old screens modded in a copy of "Custom PC" a while back. Give me some time and I can look it out for you. I might even be able to get it scanned if I can find my copy :)

BAH... I feel like a tard... i ordered the 4" by accident... oh well looks like my old rig gets one too :P (it will be good practice before I take a hit at the good one)

ok on second thought... this looks like the perfect opportunity to mod my car stereo... OH YEAH!

I've got a great setup as is, but I hate having to use a radio transmitter to get my mp3 music to my stereo speakers! so... I'm integrating my zune into my car! and I'm using the 4" lcd screen to help make it nice :P

640x480, I should correct. PlayStation uses resolutions up to 640x480. :P

I'd run it at 640x480... but I want to keep it running all the time, so lower res, lower GPU consumption

I posted something at MP3Car.com and I'm not thinking much help will come from there... I know some guys at Circuit City that might be able to help me with the car stuff... (i need to get into the head unit to make a line in for my zune!)

You thought about getting a separate PCI Video card? That way you could have an independant display without sucking too much juice from your main GPU. ^_^

Has anyone seen that SideShow thing that Vista will have? It's made just for the purpose of having a second lcd. There are already some laptops that have a small screen on the outside that uses that. Here's the link. (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/features/foreveryone/sideshow.mspx)

I've got vista business I don't know how vista plans to do multiple displays... the screen wont get use until I get an x2000 series card :P (yea you heard me r600!)

I'm not so sure what is going on with the guy selling me the 4 inch screen I'll find out soon enough ugh :( I WANT IT NOW :P

I've already got my components to mod my car I just need the screen to make my enclosure and finish wiring it...
