I'm not really sure on how to put in basic windows. Does anyone have any tips for instalation?

Put the disk in your drive, boot up the computer. Enter the BIOS during booting (probably hit the delete key or one of the function keys-F1,F3, etc., will flash up.) and change the first boot device to be your disk drive.
It will boot from the disk and the windows install procedure will run automagically.
Good luck!

Thanks anyway. I'm a software guy too. I can hold my own when the OS boots but before that I'm screwed. I'm trying to well round my skills from software to hardware and beyond. I'm a total noob to this. I know how to cut the window but how to I get it to stay in?
First off.. Welcome to TBCS. This is, IMO, the BEST modding community on the net. Everyone here is incredibly helpful, and to top that off, knowledgeable too. I'm going to be doing the same thing in a little bit. My worlklog is in my sig. Best of luck with the mod. Take some pics and put up a worklog in the works in progress section. We would love to see it.
The following was taken from this thread (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6093&highlight=window). +rep to ReignInPain for diggin it up.
Depends on how you want to get it done. There are a few options, but here are the necessary steps.
1. Cut the hole for the window if you haven't already.
Now you can choose how you want to install it. I used foamy tape for sticking house numbers to the outside of your house, and that worked great. You can also screw it on and silicon gel/epoxy (or whatever it's called) it on (easiest ways I guess).
2. Cut the plexi with a little overlap on the panel on all sides (i.e. if the panel was cut 25cm. x 25 cm., cut the plexi 26 x 26 so you can stick it on).
3. Use your preferred method for putting it on. In the case of the foam tape, simply cut the tape to the right size (you'll probably have to cut it down the middle too, because it's pretty thick, width wise) and stick it to the panel. Then stick the plexi on top of that, rest heavy books on the taped part for an hour or so, and you're done. For the screws, just drill the holes, and screw it on. For the silicon gel/epoxy put a thin line on the panel, put on the panel, and put heavy books on it. Then, you can put it around the edges if you think it needs it.
Hope that helped ya, and good luck!

Yeah, your right everyone on here has been helpful and supportive. I thought as soon as I got on here they'd be like Noob!!! Take his ass down but it wasn't like that. Thanks for the help it gave me more insight to what I'm about to do. I'll put the pics up when I get started this weekend.

Naa, we're easy going around here.
Everyone has to start somewhere. So far, the only thing I've done is mod my mouse. But, the paint got messed up somehow, so I have to redo it. I did manage to get a blue LED installed though.

That'll be a nice mouse once you get it finished. I've done next to nothing.

Hey, I'm glad to see my guide being put to good use, and be sure to post LOTS of pictures. We here at TBCS love pictures ;).
And hopefully I'm not the only one here that understands the significance to your name :).

 Sorry about the mix up you guys. I've got everything I need to start my first project except of course the window. I'm looking for a way to get some plexiglass of acrylic cheaply. I'm painting the case too so sandpaper and paint set me back a bit. The dremmel tool I just bought took a chunk out of my PC as well. So aside from the hardware, this budget case has went from low budget case to no budget case. I still think I have enough stuff to do well for a first project.

EStreetPlastics.com (www.estreetplastics.com)
That is the cheapest acrylic/plexiglass online retailer that I know of. If you don't want to purchase online, look in your local phone book for a store called Tap Plastics. They are pretty much everywhere as I understand it. The nearest one for me is on the other side of the state, so I stick with online retailers.
Some other online retailers...
Performance-PCS.com (www.performance-pcs.com/) carries A.C. Ryan Modders Mesh and Acrylipanels (Acrylic/Plexiglass). A.C. Ryan rocks by the way.
Tapplastics.com (www.tapplastics.com) carries... um... everything you would ever need that is plastic related.
Hmmm... there are a few others. But I like those last two the best.

That's what it's all about. Just getting in there and doing it. Be sure to make a worklog so we can all see the progress. People will also give you ideas and make suggestions if you need help.
edit: for cheap plexi, try an auto glass company. My local hardware store wants $5.00 for a 12" x 16" piece of plexi. The auto glass company only wants $2.50 for the same thing.
