This time I'm going to work on it often, I swear ><

Unlike my last attempts at projects that had no real budget, I've got some cash to put into this new project. Instead of posting a write up with this first set of pics, let's just pretend it's a slide show.

The case. More shots coming soon.

To be sacrificed...

Also to be sacrificed...

No real use for these, so they get slowly sacrificed, one bye one. If i get a new PSU it should come cables anyways...I would hope.

Gotta have some firm wire to make the lighting work. Got this out of an alternator I got while camping with hippies. Go figure.

And used it to make these...sorry Defyant. It really should be flattering to see people inspired by you.

They all plug into this via the 8 RCA plugs that supply 5 volts to the LEDs.

Thats all for now. I'll wait until i see a bit or real progress before updating, unless people wanna see what i stole from those 'stangs and the semi. I snagged the lighting idea from Defyant, although i don't recall if he went through the individual steps in his log. If anyone wants to see, I could post pics i already took of the sample I did.

Heres the pics for the little lights, I figured the more content, the better.

I plan on using them on the outside to light up the case externally and internally. That may include making another 2x4 RCA bracket or two.

Simple Wiring diagram, all parts are shown except the shrink tubing and wire sheath.

Heres what was used.

..and a little of this.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f301/coffeetablesex/wire.jpg

Soldered wires to plug, secured them along with copper wire.

Got the sheathing secured at one end, and ready for the LED at the other

Pretty much the finished product.

This was a demo piece. The rest have been made with smaller LEDs, different shrink tubing, and longer lengths of wire. The finish products look much nicer than the test piece. I think the modular design gives it a nice look, plus you have the ability to easily change up the look of your case, so you never get bored with the lighting scheme you choose.

Also, the resistor is right next to the led. Those two pieces, along with the solder joints, are the weak spots. I avoid bending them, so I don't break something and ruin my hard work. =P
