I would like to offer my most sincere apologies to all those offended by my quotation regarding cruelty to cats. The quotation was posted by me as a joke regarding the thread topic, and I presumed the source of origin was also produced as a joke. However, this was not seen as being funny by many users. On reflection I have realised this post was not atall funny and was in extremely bad taste. I apologise to all those who found it offensive. I will accept my ban from the forums as being fair punishment for my inappropriate post.

I too am sorry for anyone that found the Cat Carrier picture to be in poor taste in that same thread.

Yeah I am sorry to. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Bucko, i can see how your post may have been intended as a poor joke, but what ReigninPain posted was sick beyond belief. I'm considering contacting the RSPCA about what he's posted.

Bucko, i accept your apology. ReigninPain, i'm afraid don't accept yours. You crossed the line by a long shot.

Bear in mind that i speak only for myself, not for Paul or TBCS.

I think that was very noble of all of you for apologizing, but I don't know if I can except any of them (I saw the thread after it was locked and really have no clue what anyone said).

I apologize for my only comment, although I feel that it was not out of line. I still apologize to anyone if I did offend them with my comment, because I never mean to offend.

I know this isn't the popular opinion, but I saw the item in question and I thought it was funny.

I can see how it can be deemed as inappropriate for this forum. This forum isn't adults only.

The "cat carrier" was funny. It was OBVIOUSLY a joke and was probably taken as such by just about everybody.

The "other thing" was disgusting and mean spirited. Posting that was OBVIOUSLY done for shock value, and had no place on this or any other forum.
The fact that someone even let it happen, MUCH LESS actually watched it, means that they were a willing and active participant, and just as guilty.
People who do things like that are sick and need to be put down like rabid dogs.

It's very nice that you offered an apology, and while I can only speak for myself... not accepted.

Watched it? Is this the washing machine you refer to?

Ironcat
01-29-2007, 01:34 PM
No... I am referring to his little anecdotal story, and anyone who read it knows exactly what I meant...
...be glad if you didn't...

SkaCore

I read it. But there was no video there?

Ironcat
01-29-2007, 01:39 PM
No, I meant the fact that someone watched it happening, didn't save the cat, beat the living $h!t out of the guy, call the cops... and then beat the guy again...
and preferably in that order.

I think before we discuss that other thing that was posted that I never saw, we should make sure it is ok with the admins. A public apology is usually taken as good form, but discussing the things that got the original forum locked in the first place is usually not that smart. It's why forums are locked, so you don't talk about it anymore.

You cry when one animal dies tragicly close to home. But what do you do when 1000's of animal get slaughtered on a daily basis from afar?

I've actually heard that a 20 second burst in a microwave will stunt the growth of an infant animal, making a kitten stay "kitten sized" for the rest of its life.

You can ban me if you like, im just trying to raise awareness.

I'm not sure what's going on, so I'm just going to back out of this now.

Cana - that was disgusting. Whether you or anyone else endorses it or not, to be, is beyond the point. I recomend that you remove that link immediately. That made me sick to my stomach.

EDIT: DaJe, we posted at the same time. I also recomend you remove you post - the entire point of deleting those posts and banning those people was to make people stop talking about it. If you bring up the post's content again it's just as bad.

Thats sad. Its very good to raise awareness, but It's got a little bit of a frightening touch.

Back on the subject of the apology... Why would we be talking about this in a computer modding forum?

The other day, when everyone posted that disgusting stuff about cats - a few people got banned and all the offensive posts were deleted. The mods don't appreciate it when you bring up the topic of the posts - they were deleted for a reason.

EDIT: You changed it. Never mind.

That website is against animal crulty. Its purpose is to inform people as to where there fur coats come from in an effort to curb the fur trade. I will not remove the link. My ethics and morals are at stake on this one. Sorry.

I didn't see what was posted (I've been gone) but from what I've read, it sounds ****ed up.

Also, Cana, While what you posted is most likely true, PETA uses all kinds of tactics to earn people's support, but PETA also pays members of the ALF and ELF (Animal / Earth Liberation Front, Extremists who firebomb laboratories and such) for doing their job and not associating themselves with PETA.

PETA is great in concept, yes. However it's run by a bunch of ****heads and they support extremists, and it's supported by a bunch of loonies. After I dug up some info on PETA... I lost all respect for them.

Fair enough - just don't be surprised if it gets removed anyways. For or against - its still disgusting and whether its promoting or exposing - its still animal cruelty, a topic that I would imagine we don't want to show up in TBCS's Google results. Not to mention, these forums are supposed to be moderately family oriented.
