I passed the hardware section with a 528/515, but failed the OS with a 494/505. I missed my A+ Certification by one question. Got any advice? I'm retaking the OS part in 2 or 3 months.
Never took the A+. Best advice I can give is take your score sheet, and study up on the areas you were weak on. Real world advice would be to not worry about the A+. Go with Microsoft or Cisco. Net+ wouldn't be a bad start on the network side. If you need some help, let me know.
edit: congrats on the hardware test.
Uh, finish getting A+. It's an entry level cert, but it shows that you're working on them if nothing else.
You're halfway though as well.
Physical location. If there is a nearby college or tech/trade school they will probably offer the test a few times a year.
The quickest way to get it done is to get a comptia net+ book and study the hell out of it until the next scheduled net+ test in your area. Expect to shell out 200 bucks or so for the test and the book. It's actually a good deal considering that the cert lasts a lifetime.

The school I go to paid for the test, and they'll be paying for the retest also. Lucky for me, actually.
I was hoping for some good sites to get study guides from. I couldn't find anything that great.
Jeremy & Mitternacht,
I'll help you dudes study if ya want. I took the Net+ back in 2005 and passed it VERY little studying. I want to sit the CCNA again (took it in 2002)by Summer so if you guys want to do that we can see about an online study group or something. I happen to know someone who is a CCIE, and offered study help. I also know a dude who was Cisco's engineer of the year but never worked for Cisco and doesn't hold a single Cisco cert. This guy was also responsible for setting up the network for the VP debate in 2004. Right now, I'm on the MCSE track, so I've got some good info on that too. Let me know.
Jeremy,
The exams are only available at Prometric or VUE authorized exam centers across the US. Check out www.comptia.com.
