Fix the link bud. You have "http://" twice.

That's mad, but I do like the unusual heatsink.

I LOVE IT! lmao. The penny heatsink was a very good idea though for a mod... Just attach the copper penny column to something to cool it (i.e. aluminum heatsink, part of case, etc. You could make a "stove" by making a column of pennies that would touch the side of the case (if its all metal). Hibachi PC. LMAO.

i saw someone make a nice looking penny column heatsink for his video memory, this was quite some time ago though. he called it a "ghetto mod." ive also seen someone make a hot plate out of old processors by running voltage through 2 specific pins.

That penny column would be the work of Afrotech Mods.

Yeah, if only pennies were still made from copper, they'd make pretty good heatsinks.
Ok, they look like copper, but have you tried one with a magnet recently?

I was about to yell at you "COPPER IS NOT MAGNETIC" then I stopped and remembered my science teacher telling me it IS.

xD

Anywho, yeah. If they were actual copper, they'd be too malleable anyways.

I was about to yell at you "COPPER IS NOT MAGNETIC" then I stopped and remembered my science teacher telling me it IS.Huh? I didn't think it was. Hut newer 'copper' coins can be picked up by a magnet, older ones can't. So I think they have steel in there somewhere now.

Edit:
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f341/chrispollard/pennymag.jpg

On the left, a 1994 penny. On the right, one from 1971.

Those Geomags (http://www.geomagsa.com/) are pretty strong, and it's impossible to place something that close unless it's not attracted. So, the one on the right just isn't interested in the magnet at all.

That's your science lesson for today! :glasses:

i think they used to, perhaps they still do, sandwich zinc between 2 layers for pennies

i'm also preaty shure copper is not magnetic, but the reason for being able to pic a coin as xmastree said, is that they put iron nickel and in them to make them resistent
