My mother recently gave me a pair of old computers that were about to be committed to the dumpster at her job. One in particular caught my eye, my first Windows machine was a Packard Bell, and this one looks mildly like a rejected Tetris piece. But, I think it will serve as a solid base for my new lan box "Nightmare". I ordered some parts, so I'm waiting for those to get here from NewEgg. I'm also picking up a few little gadgets here and there to make this thing run. Anyhow, here's the case pre demo & fab. Expect plenty of pics soon.

I've got a new airbrush now, so there's going to be a combination of hand brushed and airbrushed stuff on here. A blow hole on the front, and some faux spikey bits. Maybe even a skull or two. ^_^

Well you definately got the right title for that project. I have had to work on several of those, and even when they came out they had some problems. They were affordable and they sold a ton of them. Looking forward to what you do with her..

The biggest problem is going to be the motherboard, I didn't think about it when I ordered my parts, but hopefully I can make the new board fit. The base of the case is where the board is. The power supply is in the middle of the case also, so, if I can get the motherboard and video card in place, I'll be good. I'm waiting to check those parts before I get into serious fabrication. If it doesn't work out, I'll probably just get a small Lian Li case to hack up.

Jeez, ok this thing just isn't going to work. So, I'm going to use another case I've got laying around and probably dump this one in the trash. I'd like to meet the man who designed that case in a dark alley somewhere. More coming soon, I've got everything but the monitor here, so I'm dumping the parts in my spare case till I get a new case modded for it.

Ok, new case picked out and ordered. I also grabbed a few extra odds and ends. The mod's changed slightly, I'm airbrushing blue flames on the sides, and installing case handles to the top of the case. I'm also doing a blow hole on the front. All in all, this will actually be a pretty straight forward mod. I got the guts here today, and have it all installing Vista in a spare case I had in the closet.

Here's the case I ordered, full parts list coming soon.

nice case u got there bro..... but mod the old case reather than the lianli... that is wat modding is to me and to me modding means taking a cheap case and making it beter than a case that costs more, . just my 2 cents though

Actually, I've decided to use the old case as a file server, because of the room constraints I'll have to use a small motherboard. But there is enough room for the drives and a power supply. Then I can make it look cool, like I originally planned.
