I put a 320Gb drive in my PC, but XP will only recognise 128Gb of it. How do I make it see the rest? I don't care if it becomes another patition, but I want to be able to use it.

i assume you formatted in ntfs?

a) is ur copy of xp service packed (believe sp2 was supposed to carry a fix for this)
b) is your bios up to date (older machines never expected hdd's that large)

tools such as partition magic can resolve this, sure some of the more technical guys will come to your aid and correct any mistakes i have made

Windows XP cant read past 137 gigs of data, you have to patch it with the manufacturer's disk

I have a lot of 160 gig drives and if you keep writing to those drives without patching, XP will mess them up and you'll have to reformat

It's a common issue with XP without the SP1
You can get the answer on how to resolve it here (http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/HDDProblems.htm#common)

Ok, thanks!
Sorted now. I did s fresh install of XP and I don't have the SP2 disc, I had to download it all.
I now just have a 128Gb and a 170Gb partition.

Brought to you buy the same CEO that said '640k should be enough memory for everyone!'

I hate to troll, but I couldn't resist. Glad to hear you got your problem solved!
