In the first link:
What he does is sticks the radiator on the outside of the case and then adds a water block which he attaches the cold side of a peltier and adds a HSF to the other (hot) side. This way he cools the water down with the peltier and has a HSF sticking out the back of the case in addition to the radiator.

EDIT: I think in the second one the guy made a waterblock with no bottom an he glued it to the CPU (hence the "Direct" part)

It's on the outside. (http://guides.pcapex.com/water_cooling/image.php?url=ip-chiller20.jpg)

He actually cut a hole for the waterblock (http://guides.pcapex.com/water_cooling/image.php?url=ip-inside5.jpg) to fit into so the peltier is only about 1cm away from the back panel...

EDIT: I suggest you don't try that because the peltier HSF & Waterblock are not secured very well so it may pull the hoses off.
