i have been wanting my own gaming computer for some time now so i wanted to know if this as a barebones kinda computer is any good and worth the price tag

here are specs
Networking: Integrated Gigabit Network Adapter
Hard Disk Drives: 80GB 7200RPM 3G SATA II Hard Drive
Memory: 512MB DDR2 PC4200 Non-ECC Memory (512MB x 1)
Accessories: Integrated Firewire Port
Power Supplies: 500 Watt Power Supply
Components: Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio
Desktop Computers: Mid Tower Chassis Base
Processors: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz 4M Processor
Video / Graphics Cards: Integrated Intel GMA 3000 Graphics
Motherboards: Intel DG965WH ATX Motherboard w/Gigabit LAN
CD/DVD Drives: 18X DVD+R/RW-R/RW Dual Layer Drive (x2)

all that for $1,071.97 CDN

i would later on add my
seagate barracude 7200.10 250gb sata
video card (not sure which one)
some ocz dual channel ram
Logitech G17 keyboard
Logitech G7 mouse

so my questions are
1. worth it?
2. how are the products it includes more so does intel make good mother boards
3. does anyone know if this board is capable of over clocking

thanks for helping!

Not worth it. For 1,184CAD (or 1k, USD), you can build a pretty sweet rig, assuming that you find good deals (like newegg).

dammit newegg doesn't ship to canada and i built a nice system for 1500 too !!!

Also, your "integrated video" isn't going to do anything. It's not going to allow you to play some of the latest games.. (BF2, BF2142, Oblivion, Counterstrike, Half Life, etc) Even if it says "128MB" of video ram, keep in mind that it is basically allocating 128MB of your actual RAM for video.

i know thats why i put it for buying later i just didn't know which exact card i wanted

EDIT: Try www.tigerdirect.ca I think they ship to Canadia :)

that computer is from tigerdirect they have the odd good deal but nothing like newegg :( i found another store with good prices but not alot of options www.canadacomputer.com

EDIT 2: You didn't list an optical drive? Maybe a DVDROM or DVD-R/W ?

i listed 2 18X DVD+R/RW-R/RW Dual Layer Drives

Depends, what's that in USD?

I built my computer for about $1,000. Granted, I already had a monitor, keyboard and DVD drive, but still. If you want to know what my system is, check my sig.

Seems good to me, but like I said, I don't know the exchange rate so I couldn't tell you.
