I don’t know much about el wire but I was wondering if I could fit el wiring alongside the wires in each sleeve to make it glow. One question is would the psu be powerful enough to power that much el wire? I have a 500 watt Psu and I would buy a bigger inverter like this one (http://www.elwirecheap.com/2030inverter.html). I think it would be cool if the wires them selves actually glowed so I could have the ambient light in the case another color. Any light you guys can shine on the subject would rock. Thanks,
Scotty

you shouldnt have any problems with this inverter and the 500W psu will be sufficient as well. id say go ahead and do what you gotta do

Just do your build so its not terribly difficult to change the EL wire if it fails or gets dim in a year

Good idea. I was gonna use heat shrinking tubing, but ill use something else now. Im having trouble finding white sleaving thought. I found one site but it doesn't have a picture of the product. Heres the link

Try cableorganizer.com (http://cableorganizer.com) for the sleeving, they have white in various styles.

Looks good. I saw some white expandable sleeving that looked nice, but I was kind of looking for thin plastic sleeving as I think the light would shine through better. Does that kind of thing exist for wire management or would it be too hard to work with?
Sorry if any of this stuff sounds dumb, as I’m just a noob with a dream. ;)

You may find this link helpful. While not exactly sleeving, you may be able to do something similar.

why dont you just use tape to hold it in place? you put a small strip on every 3cm and your good to go.

The reason I am not going to just use tape is the two goals of this project is wire management and to make my case look cleaner/sexier 8). Secondly if you read that log about the deco case he show how much better it looked when you put a translucent layer of tubing over it.
PS: Toast ill check out a few auto parts stores. It sounds a good idea. I drew a blank when I thought of where to get tubing locally.
