I can't burn an .iso because it says their is no cd drive. I've already checked the connections and even tried using my cd drive. Anyone know what the problem could be? I'm stuck on a guest account right now btw, is that it?

Maybe the guest account doesn't have write access to the drive, only read.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it at all, but I had a similar situation some time ago (except being stuck on a guest account, which very well may be the problem). My issue began when I installed Battlefield 2 on my PC with the Deluxe version of Nero that included the image burning extension. The software piracy protection embedded on EA's installation package made my CD-ROM drive disappear permanently because it detected the image burning software, so I couldn't play the game without re-installing windows and excluding nero's image plug-in. I can't verify that this is truely what caused my problems, but I read it on a forum somewhere and their fix worked. So you may check if any games by EA are installed, that may be the problem.

So the drive doesn't come up at all in My Computer, like it thinks there is nothing there?

If that is the case, and you just installed new hardware (new mobo, right?) then you might not have drivers installed for it. Find out the model/part number, go on the internet, download the drivers, install, and see what happens (this might be work if it is a guest account, I don't know the installation restrictions on guest accounts).

BTW-how did you get stuck on a guest account?
