iv had a ingrowing toe nail for about 2 weeks now iv had 2 fixed in the past but this time the doctor said to apply cream to fix it an stop it happening again. however i just stubbed my toe really bad and it started gushing with blood so iv bandaged it and the bleeding appears to have stopped. but it hurts like hell do u think i should bother going to the doctors now or wait till morning and see what its like then.

i say wait till morning, adn see how it is, if i starts to get swollen, it means its starting get infected, if this happens go to the doc right away, if not you could relax a bit but still keep an eye on it

One of my toes is ingrown and infected. It's nasty.
Go to the doc, have them take care of it.

Taking painkillers will not get it un-ingrown.
Go to the doctor.
I agree with Omega, go to the doctor. Have them pull the whole nail. I've had 2 done. It's easy.

eh-hehhehheh....easy?
I had mine fixed 5 years ago. They put acid in the areas where it did grow to keep it from growing. And when that novocaine wore off.....

They did the same thing to one of my toes and it did not hurt.
Of coruse, I WAS on vicodin at the place and had a prescription of codeine, so...
Well, I'll agree that getting them corrected (where they cut just the sides) sucks. But, getting the whole nail removed is easy. No, they don't grow back.

The doctors take the nail out and make it so it doesn't grow back.
That's all there is to it.

Yeah, they pull the roots and all. After it heals, the skin underneath hardens. Trust me, it's MUCH better than having the "corrective" surgery.

I don't even want to think about what that looks like...
It actually doesn't look that bad. A friend of mine in band had it done after a large cymbal split his tonail in half. It's a little strange, but not a big deal.
