http://us4.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/RedHat/RPMS/i386/9.0/

Click the link "samba-3.0.24-1.i386.rpm". Save it to your disk.

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-8.0-Manual/custom-guide/s1-rpm-using.html

Read that.

Hope that helped!

I _thought_ that samba was installed by default on RH 7.2...(If not I blew that question...)

I would actually download and install the latest Fedora Core (6 I think). It has the latest security stuff and it does come with an option to install Samba during the initial install, avoiding all the dependency crap.

Thanks Everyone. I finally got it installed, I was looking for the configuration file in the wrong place. A little trial and error did the trick though (and yes ALOT of swearing) Now, on to setting up Samba.... (the swearing begins again). Huhhhh

Good luck! The first dozen times I setup a samba share I wanted to hunt the developers down and tar and feather them. After that it came naturally. Since I have not setup Samba in years I would be cussing too I am sure.
