Swweeet. I'm in my school lunch room right now. A few minutes ago the speakers beeped and our super intendent said "Attention students". For the first time ever the lunch room went dead silent. The Super intendent said "Due to the inclement weather, school will close after 5th period". The entire school cheered. It was insane.

Plus I had a math test 6th, so I got out of that..SCORE!

TIME TO GO HOME EARLY:santa:

It's getting pretty bad here in Ohio too. They're forecasting about 8 inches. And the dumbasses who run our school system did NOT cancel school.

So its snowing in the US? We had snow last week, and i got out of a Maths test too 6th period, no-one knows why we didn't finish at lunch, would have made more sense and then i would have got out of english... Stupid head has never closed the school since i have been there, sections of the school have been closed cus of flooding but thats no reason to close all of the school. Idiot. lol.

sounds like you guys are finally getting what we up here got about a month ago. i laugh at you!

its actually hilarious watching some of the weather channels. in manitoba the forcasted highs are between -10 and -20 celcius. its warmed up here to the point where the lows arent even below 5 anymore. good old west coast mild-ish winters.

So do you have a BlackBerry, Sidekick, or something like that? Must be fun to be "connected" all the time.

Our forecast here in Eastern NC is a whopping 0" of snow and rain for the entire week (or something like that). Boo lack of snow, I miss that stuff, except for the fact that North Carolinians can't drive in the snow, it's like:

Durr, what's snow? *Drives faster than speed limit and crashes into tree*

or

OMFG!!! SNOW!!! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!! *Proceeds to act out this VG Cats comic (http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=77)*

Yeah, people here are either amazingly stupid when it comes to driving, or smart/stupid/redneck, or they aren't from here and CAN drive, but get in a wreck anyway because of some moron.

redundant: I have a toshiba laptop :) I was just lucky that the schools wifi network worked today.

I know what you mean. People here can't drive either. This moring there was only about 2 maybe 3 inches of snow on the ground. Nothing by chicago standards. People were freaking out, someone was even driving 7 mph on the way to school today, a jeep was ready to go around him into oncoming traffic, that would have been bad.

Then after school people who don't know how to control their cars were going 10 under the speed limit everywhere and having trouble navigating parking lots at 2 mph.

Knowing how to use your brakes, tires, read your enviroment, proper e-brake usage, and most of all, knowing your car, can really help getting around quickly and safely in any amount of snow.

Nobody in NC can drive at all, even when there's not snow. When there is however, they do like 55 MPH around a sharp bend and run into a tree. Sometimes, like in my mom's case, they are actually accidents (she slid down a steep exit ramp and did a 360 w/o damaging the car or hurting herself :p).

I had no school, but still had to go to work. The only + is 3 more hours sleep. ^_^

I never realized this, until my dad told me:

My car outside is covered with ice. About 1" thick, and so is the street. Can we say, no school? AND no work? I'll have to call off, which I don't want to do because out of 5 months, I only took 1 day off and that's because I was still in Michigan on that day. But I still don't want to wreck a car I've searched for for 2 years.

I don't even drive yet and I hate how other people do... how in hell did they pass the driver's exam? I mean really... I ride my awesome BikeE recumbent bike, and people freak out because "OMFG there's a bike. On the road. And it's not a "normal" one. What does I do-ses? Blargle logle glurb," their brain eventually stops working and then they decide to pull around me even though my arm is out clearly stating that I'm making a left turn. Retards. Next time my arm, well, my hand, will be stating something else with the use of one finger. Or not... I don't feel like being run over by a minivan, that would be a sucky death if I ever saw one.

supposed to get 6 inches and its pretty windy out.

DRece & Nil8, take care fellas. PM me or Sgtm for my cell #, let me know if you guys need anything, although i'm kinda holed up already myself.. (House has like 3 inch. built up already..)

You guys are still getting off light. I was without power for 11 days due to the 4" of ice that hit my city this season. That sucked.

Thanks for the concern, stay warm and hide if possible. I think Springfield is being missed by this. Thursday it's supposed to be sunny and 45. Gives me a chance to work on my truck.

So we had about 2 feet fall today. Schools are closed tomorrow. My stupid call center is boasting that they've never had to close the center due to weather, and they're not about to start now. Thing is.. if I don't go, I don't have a job.. (even though I can do the job in my sleep):dead:
