Do any of you do any extreme sports?
I'm in the alps at the moment snowboarding (well, actualy right now I'm in the chalet nursing off the hangover caused by last night being 'Vodka night' at the local bar!)
This is me yesterday, Its the first time that I've tried big jumps!

I think everyone has a different idea of what constitutes an "extreme sport".
I hunt wild boar armed with just a knife.
I spearfish at 100+ fsw.
I consider those extreme.

you cant describe it, at first, it start by a large amount of fear, at the second you jump of the plane, life seems useless. Feeling the speed of your fall in your face, it's like playing to God. Seems like you can do everything. Then the parachute open, and it's the biggest relief you can feel in this life. At the second you touch the ground, you want to go back. The biggest rush of adrenaline, and also the best drug. :)

Ever tried bungee jumping? Sly described skydiving better than I could, so I'll leave that. Bungee jumping from a skydiver's POV is strange. It's funny, when I did mine I instinctively adopted the 'stable spread' position.
Entering freefall at the height you'd be lining up for the landing (~200ft) is an unusual feeling. Jump out of a plane and you can see colours, the curve of the earth. Bungee jumping, you can see the expressions on spectators faces.

as weird as this may sound, i wouldn't do a bungee !! i don't know why though, maybe the lack of control over the whole thing
ps: how can i do skydiving, how do i find a plane, do i need class course and stuff....
its things like this that make me wish this country would be more developed
ps: +rep for both of you guys

I've been skiing with my school twice now, im getting good, got good enough to be entered in for a scholar ship, but thevn't heard back, but then again there was over 1500 people to go through and im no where near as good as some of them.
Its fun but going with my family wouldn't be easy as im the only who has ever done it my cousin went snowboarding, which is something i would like to try.

The unicycling that I do is an extreme sport. MUni (mountain unicycling) is a favorite of mine, plus I take my unicycle to the skate park all the time as well. How many people can drop in on a quarter pipe on a skateboard?

I also mountain bike and BMX, and I dunno if this counts, but I wakeboard and slalem ski competitively. It's not extreme, but I ski and snowboard too.

I used to skydive in college. Man, I miss it. Hopefully I'll have a chance to get back into it one of these days. I love snowboarding, but it's one more thing I wish I time for.

No? you dont consider it an extreme sport? Try this, For my wedding, my friends took me to a paintball court, they said to me: go, you have 3 minutes to hide yourself, then we (about 30 persons) go and hunt you. If we touch you, you're not dead, we're still hunting...

Heh heh... that pic of the guy ironing clothes on top of that cliff is hilarious... there's the perfect "extreme" sport for you Minty... although, I'm probably about the same... heh, "Extreme Indoor Enthusiast"... although, I used to go on bike rides through town to the one burger joint that's pretty good... it was about a 10-15 mile ride one way... pretty good exercise...

I use to freestyle BMX. At the time, there was no such thing as a bike built specificly for freestyle. Kids made fun of my bike because it had blue tires, nobody had seen them, had to get stuff like that from the States. The best part was, everything you did was awesome. Now the envelope has been pushed so far, you'd have to be crazy to get noticed. Now, closing in on 40, the old bones and joints sure aren't happy about the reckless days of youth.
