Scroll Speeds

Hi, I just got a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0. The scroll wheel is way too sensitive. I've lowered the scroll sensitivity in the control panel all the way and its still too sensitive.

Anybody have any ideas how I could fix this?

When you click on the mouse properties, does it look like this?

That was what the new properties screen looked like after installing the software disc that came with my new wireless mouse (expect I brought up your mouse in the pic).

If so, go to the scrolling tab:

Then make sure the "Enable accelerated scrolling" box is unchecked. I tried it and hated it. Too hard to scroll like I want to.

That's all I can think of.

On a side note, I love the wireless keyboard, but the mouse took a day and a bit before I threw it across the room to my pile of useless crap and plugged my old one in.
It was a basic MS wireless one and to get it to click on links and the like a lot of the time I had to have the cursor moving slightly, or it just wouldn't work. We have more expensive wireless MS Mouses (Mice? what is the plural for a computer mouse anyway?) at work and they do the same thing. I thought it may have been old battereies there, but seeing as mine did it too and it was brand new, I guess it's just how they are.

I would say that it's Mouses.

This is my opinion, I'm not a language freak...
But computer "Mice" doesn't sound good to me.

It's like the translation to spanish.
I love my spanish language, I really do... but there are lots of things that you just shouldn't translate.

Mouse in spanish is "ratón". Literally.
I've seen people talk about computers in spanish, and when refering to the mouse, say "ratón"... and I'm like.. WHA???!!!??!?

Dude, "ratón" is the freaking animal you want to hit with a broom towards the horizon.
I don't care if we're speaking spanish, it's a freaking MOUSE!

I got into a slight argument with a literature professor at my brother's university, because he was discussing the mouse/ratón thing. He was pro-ratón.

So I nailed him with "Click".
I asked him, how would he translate "click".
He said "pinchar" which in spanish is sort of clicking... it's more like "pinching".
And then, just then, I accepted the fact he was a spanish-Nazi.

Click came from the sound a mouse makes when you press the button.
It goes "click!".
Doesn't matter if it's english, spanish, japanese, russian, martian.
The SOUND goes "click".
Period.

He wasn't able to reply to that one. :)
