Anyone else got some modded stuff laying around?

I've got this:

Took me about 10 minutes after a quick trip to Home Depot a couple years ago.

good stuff was it fun drilling into glass?!
i haven't really modded anything (that i can think of) just fixed or mcgiver'd lots of stuff.
e.g. i got a lightgun for my ps2 and the cable had a loose connection. I resoldered it and moved the cable from the bottem of the gun to the front (i don't remember why though) and it works great now.

With the right bit and a steady hand (and adequate protection) it wasn't bad--the important part is to take it slow.

I've got a couple other glass containers that are going to get turned into lamps as well.

sorry about it being blurry, thats what you get with a $60 digital camera. i added the pipes on the front and back to redirect the sound in one direction, also i was trying to creat a bose type sound system (its to short though). its not the best sound but it is handy sometimes.

Mine? Good. 3 inch speakers hit 3/4 inch displacement. The tubes amplify just the right frequencies :p. Also, they run off 12 volt DC 1 ampere, so I think I could attach them to a molex....

OMG how could i forget my mp3 player...

i made this over 2 or 3 years ago so it has been scratched and saved my mp3 from damages a good number of times. i think i've had 2 or 3 major drops and each time its been fine.

http://inlinethumb09.webshots.com/776/2054223430100511463S600x600Q85.jpg

i was gonna drill the proper size hole for each but the drill slipped and i just ended up cutting a bit hole. makes it easyer to turn on and off though so i'm happy with it.

i later tried to make a cmoy pocket amp but i could find any place that had the right chip.

Now you got me really thinking--get one of these:

http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=5

and stuff it into an altoids box!

I wonder if it would have any major change on the dynamics of the speaker?

I'm seeing a quickie test being done this summer!

i also built a nintendo wii wireless sensor bar. it has 28 infrared LED's, 2 sets of 14. each set runs off a AAA battery in parallel. it gives me maybe 10 or 15 feet more than the stock sensor bar provides which is about 15. after that the hand/mouse starts jumping around. here are some pictures of it. it wasn't fun working with infrared LED's as you have to use a camera to tell if there working or not.

thats wood glue holding them in place.

i still need to add a switch so i can turn it off and on easier

And it works?

yup the wiimote works off infrared light. so you could get to candles (make sure the flame can be seen) and use that as the sensor bar. i have done it and here is a video of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WD9g7QnM3kw

and here is a video on how to make a wireless one. i didn't follow it, i just came across it looking for the video above. mine doesn't have a resistor though. and i put more led's for more power *starts grunting like tim the tool man taylor*

that sounds awesome and if i can find a cheap moust i think i would like to try that. did it have a wheel in it too? and how did you make the buttons. i would imagine you did it something like this...

http://inlinethumb20.webshots.com/1939/2537372930100511463S600x600Q85.jpg

thats at least how i would do it.

and i just found a cheap and small mouse http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=012190&cid=PE.124

yeah thats basically how to do it , i used a logitech football themed optical mouse that i got for free and removed the plactic outer part and glue gunned it on after cutting the hole in the bottom

PS dont use wheeled mouse its too large for the tin, and a pain to use
