LED's

Well, LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, so you use them to emit light. ;)

ok.. so maybe I should have asked with a little more clarity...

Has anyone else here ever ordered from them? I was pretty impressed with the shipping time. They also give out freebies. Along with my order, I got 2 5mm UV LED's and a "Robots will kill you" sticker.

yeah I've used them before. Very good company. I got the LED's for my BCOD project from them. I also got 2 stickers and a few red LED's for free.

I got everything about 2 days earlier than expected, very fast, very cheap, and great selection.

Plus I always laugh at the name cause I think LSDiodes :p.

Damn, you've got me thinking about replacing all the SM LED's in this laptop with blue ones now...:devious:
Although I might leave the charging light alone, it's green or yellow depending on the state of the battery, so it's not a standard device.

They ship anywhere for $2, which is pretty cheap.

However, I do take issue with their LED 'tutorial'...

This is where the little 'Resistor(s)' squiggly comes in. By adding a resistor it's possible to tone down the amount of voltage each receives.

With this kind of information floating around it's little wonder there's so much confusion about LED's.

I do like the LED calculator (http://metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/ledcalc/index_eng) they link to, especially the 'guru' part at the end.
