Okay, I'm building a computer for my girlfriend and thought I would ask for some ideas.

I'm using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144113 for the case going to paint over the front with hot pink.

I wanted to post on here to see if anyone here has some links to some pink computer mods and also where i could find pink cathode lights and pink paint. I'm going to replace the fan inside the psu with a pink one too if anyone can link me to one :P just need some help please ^_^.

Welcome to TBCS.

Here are some links for you:

Pink Cathode(s):

For the fans, you'll have to find out the size of the one in the PSU, and just so you know, I believe replacing the PSU fan will void the warranty. This looks like it'll make her really happy, so go for it.

EDIT: If anything, you could get a fan with some other color LEDs and then swap them out for some pink ones.

I think you should post it. It might help "inspire" him.

That thing was pink and beautiful. lol

I've thought about doing a computer for my two daughters. I've been thinking about doing it in a metalic pink... maybe even slightly pale. Pink is a color that in my opinion doesn't look good when over done. Or if you look at some of those old Mopars they were done in Pink Panther pink... but had a black hood and black strobe stripes which breaks it up. Although, a hot pink interior because there's so many other components in there.

I would hesitate to splash pink paint on that computer unless you are sure she will appreciate it. Not all girls dig everything being pink, just depends on what her personality is like. Does she see herself as a girly-girl, tomboy, elegant/refined, intellectual? You may fare better with a sleek glossy finish like a luxury car, or pastels, etc... However, one thing that seems to be ubiquitously approved is the bestowment of flowers, at any time, for any reason. My advice? Attach a small vase-like structure to the side like on the steering columns of Volkswagen Beetles and drop a fresh flower in it everytime you want to have a nice day ;)

Ok, here's the first computer, and my first ever paintjob. It shows. :D

And here's some shots of her new computer. I have a complete worklog for this offline that i simply don't have the time to post, but after all my exams, and all the TBCS maintenance that i've been putting on hold...who knows?

Hope that gives you some ideas. Unfortunately, these are actually the highest resolution photos I have of the finished product...which sucks. I have some 3 megapixel macro shots of cables, and these tiny little completed shots...mad.
