thats awesome

It is? How do you think the LAW ABIDING customer will feel when their key doesn't work because some jack ass already used it? It's one thing to download music, but don't do something that'll mess with other customers.

Agree. However, people will always insist that they get their Windows for free, regardless of whoever they stiff in order to get there. Heaven forbid they should use Linux instead and actually LEGALLY get it for free....

whoa there! when did i advocate the use of illegal keys to rip off consumers?
i merely think that it is cool that some individuals could take on a multinational corporation, but obviously now its been found that it was a hoax.

Hoax or not, this is the bit that made me chuckle...

Windows Vista: Resource hog using the software, resource hog cracking the software.

I've never used Vista (and probably wont for a few years yet) but I can only imagine him being right. :p

it's a problem microsoft should have forseen, nothings hack proof. the fact that only one key will work at a time is definatly going to be a problem. cuz no matter how much you bicker about that people should stop using crack, there going to do it anyway (I'm using a cracked version of xp right now cuz I'm broke, and we already have like 4 copies of it, but for some reason sais the activation key was invalid??? so I was forced to crack it.... ) anyway. this is something microsoft has to fix if they want to stay sucessful.

(hope that made any sense.. and I'm not suporting cracking.. DON'T DO IT!)

Why not call Microsoft and activate over the phone?

Woah. Watch where this thread is going. I suggest you both delete your posts about cracked XP versions. I'm not a TBCS representative but I can tell you now that these forums do not support illegal activity.

I can walk into a shop, and walk out carrying ten copies and get away with it.
Point being, the idea that microsoft would be 'owned' because someone worked out how to steal their software is just dumb.
The algorithms written to create these codes are written by humans, it's pretty likely that out of all of the people in the world, there's a few hundred who can work out the said algorithms and make a keygen out of them.

I would have, but back then I was terrified of calling "big places" but I'll have a lagit version on my new comp.
