Well.. i think its been a while since ive posted a whole lot of computer work/modding on this site. im about to start another project for a one of my fiance's brothers.

To make a long story short, he just came up to me one day and said he wants me to build him a case. He says, ive got 1500 to 2000 CAD to play with. so.. i sat down and went to work finding some good hardware, reading up, and spending away. This is what ive come up with, spending a mear $1823 CAD.

Thermaltake Tsunami Dream (premodded, prewindowed case.. i know.. but thats what he wanted.) so.. im gonna cut the fan grills out, paint the inside black and maybe some other minor stuff.

Asus P5N32-E SLI PLUS 650i/570 chipset
Core 2 Duo E6400
Coolermaster Gemin II Heatsink with 2 Coolermaster 120mm fans
2GB Team Xtreme DDR2 800 4-4-4-10
2 x 320gb Seagate SataII 16mb NCQ HD (raid o)
2 x 18X LG dual layer burners
XFX Geforce 8800 GTS xxx 580/1.8mhz
Silverstone Strider 600 Watt Modular PSU

So.. those are my specs for his system. i picked that enormous HSF not just to cool down the o'c from the cpu/ram i hope to get, but.. to blow a bit of air over the passive heat pipes that kick out a crap load of heat with that chip set, even at stock voltages.

ill post some results when i got it up and running, and i hope to take a bunch of pictures as i go along, and i may make a worklog, if anyone is interested.

Im liking the performance of the C2D myself. Handles multitasking a zillion times better.

well.. if i look at benchmarks, and i see that a C2D e6400 can outperform an AMD FX-62, im impressed. besides the fact that ill be getttin a nice o'c out of this chip, so.. it'll be like having
an e6700, which beats pretty much any AMD chip in pretty much everything.

and all for only $250 CAD
