For those of us in the eastern Americas, Europe, Africa, and western Asia, there's an eclipse:

Here in Burnley, it's a clear night (so far) and I've set my timelapse camera running. I don't think I'll catch the whole thing, but I should see the start.

Damn, I'm right out of the colored area on the map. (Florida)

Be sure to post pics if you get any!

I've reset it, since the show hasn't really started yet, and the moon was already at the centre of the frame.
So, I'm moving it so that I can see more from now on. IYKWIM.

So, almost completely gone now, and it's not even half way across the frame on my timelapse.
Damn, that means I could have zoomed in considerably.

Ok, so I wanted to shoot the eclipse with my camera, as I read it in /., then here by xMastree... but I freaking forgot!

So I receive like 3 consecutive text messages from one of my girlfriends asking me if I'm looking at the eclipse.

So I finish the Halo game, read the texts, and I'm like
crrraAAAPPP!!!!

I scurry out of my friend's apartment, get in my car... drive like a quasi-madMan... arrive at my gf's house... take out the cam... and start shooting.

Please keep in mind that this with with no-tripod.

Some pics, I perched the camera between the electricity counter and a "L-shaped" metal hinge/guide for the gate.... errrr... in a wierd place I put the camera.

The other pics, I found the neighbor's Toyota MR2's trunk creases in perfect aligment with the moon. Those are the best pics.

If anybody likes a pic in peculiar, I can send you the higher quality files. :)
Just ask! :)

1st one...

Blurry... but...

This was the best, IMO

And the super-digital zoomed last one... (thanks to the MR2)

Hope you enjoy...
