First off, ditch that stupid animated gif.
The two you did look ok, but are just too big to use.

They look alright, especially for only two days of using the program. Also, do you mean Adobe Photoshop, or JASC Paint Shop Pro? There is a difference between the two, with the first being the better.
As far as your images go, the thing that stands out most to me is how the renders are not really blended in too well, but thats only a real problem with the Halo sig. The car sig I can see you were going for a more tech-sig look, which is really not my specialty. However, the thick black lines don't look to good, if they were built to match the rest of the sig, just a b it better, it would look better overall. A few other parts that stick out, and are not as attractive as they could be are: The top corner of the car being cut off, and moved a bit, just looks a little too "sharp" where it was taken from, I suggest b lurring hte edges just a bit. Hell, looking at the car, the only real thing that looks good, would be the part with the headlight being duplicated, and moved. I think a white line there would be better, and a little thinner where it is on top of the actual headlight.
Now, lets jump to the halo sig. The great big, green outline; get rid of it. It makes him stand out a little too much, where you normally would want to do some blending. Another factor that stands out, or in this case is too light to be any good would be the text, solution? Darken it. A little hard to read, and thats something you never want. If your able to, and you may not be able to, add a stroke to the text, it will affect the sig in a big, good way.
Anyways, I haven't done anything with graphics in a long time, so what I typed may not be too much help. My suggestion would be too search for tutorials on your particular program, a good site to start with being Pixel2Life (http://www.pixel2life.com), or even google.
With that said, I won't add a link to my Photo Bucket gallery, I think that would b e hijacking this thread, too much. Any other questions, feel free to ask, and I, or someone else will try to answer :smoker:

I like my sigs. They're simple, and usually taken from CD Covers (Funfact: My current one is taken from a CD cover, too)

Jon actually came up with that symbol, as a fan grille for me. I remembered what it looked like and made it in PS.
i can make very good sigs, but i tend to stay with the minimalistic approach. less is more.

Agree. I tend to ignore most sigs anyway.
