It's been coming up for a while now, and tomorrow is the day. SAT must be the most dreadful acronym. I know I'll do good, but it still is kinda intimidating; the thought of it. I've been completing some practice questions for the sections.

I did all right on sentence completion, didn't do so good on sentence error identification, aced Geometry, did good on the Algebra, and I thank god there's no trigonometry. I can't remember what sin, cos and tan represent; i just know those 3 functions. :D Haven't used 'em since Physics.

The essay, sigh. At least the people reading these essays have to understand that these essays are written in a 25-minute time limit, and that they aren't finished pieces of literature perfection. All that is needed is to effectively express your opinion using examples out of past events or your own experiences, which I'm good at.

My expected, and predicted, score is in between 1700-2000.

(At least this post is good practice; there are no grammatical, spelling errors or run-on sentences! :D)

I maxed around 1100 when the best you can get was 1600. Only good thing was that was the last year for the non-essay SAT tests. I sucked at it. I'm such an idiot; I took it like 4 times and got the same score. But I know you'll do fine. Practice helps a lot.

My brother got a perfect score on his second test its was 800/800 he did really good on the other test too. He ended up graduating collage in four years. Now he works with the company that makes the software that makes google work.
Any ways I wish you good luck and Godspeed (Ill use any chance to say that.)

I had to use that in Geometry I last semester. It's used for finding angle/length measurements in triangles.

I'll have to take the PSAT (Practice) next year. Did you have a PSAT before the SAT?

more than just that. you can fiddle with graphs of sine waves, cosine waves, tangents, cosecants which are the reciprocal of sine, secants which are the reciprocal of cosine, and cotangents which are the reciprocal of tangent. its a hell of a lot of thinking and work, but it has practical applications in physics and chemistry eventually.

just wait until you guys get a taste of calculus. lots of the first year stuff has to do with finding tangents to functions. its really hard, i actually just dropped it on thursday, but its interesting at the same time. if you ever hear derivatives being talked about, those are basically equations to find a tangent at a certain point on a graph.

god, i wish i was back in high school again. all that stuff is so easy now.

That's great. I with you man, I maxed out at like 1070 I think. I'm a smart dude to. I got into one of the best technical schools in the nation. I think I probably misspelled my own name. Thank god for the Math sections. I don't remember the breakdown but my English score was embarrassing as hell.

Well, the essay was easy, one math section pretty much handed my ass to me, and I did ...ok, on the reading/writing. Other than the one math section, I did pretty well in the Math part.

which math section killed you? for me it was logarithms in grade 12.

I never took the SAT. In the Midwest most colleges make you take the ACT.
I received a 32/36 composite score. Good enough to land me a 10k/year scholarship at Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Good on you. I hated geography in school.

I knew some one who did year 11 programming (Software design and devlopment) in year 10.

I just read about the SAT's on wiki sounds like a weird system.

In Australia we just study 5 or 6 subjects for a final year one of them being English and then we get tested on them in one sit down test for each subject at the end of the year for half ouir final mark the other half is taken from in class assessments or assignments. The mark is then scaled and messed around with and then we use this mark to see what degrees at university we can get into.

Also usually each test are part multiple choice, short - long answers and usually 2 essays rather then lots of multiple choice.

When will you be able to find out your score?

I'm guessing in a week or two.
