Maybe not the safest. You can get cool looking connectors from most electronics shops, but don't expect them to be cheap.

Jellcote the outside of some BNC connectors, you could make a plastic frame to hold 4 togeather like a big plug.

mic connectors.
Again, emphasis on this not being a good idea.

Exactly why Dave? They have connectors and they lock in place. I was considering using them on a project myself, but I can't see a reason why they would be unsafe.
I must be missing something obvious.

Yeah, I might think of doing that for something less important, like an internal hub of some sort, but I don't think I'd use a mic. connector for PSUs.
But, while you're looking, gold-plated is the way to go.

They wouldn't be any worse quality than the standard 4 pin molex connetion.

It's because as you are plugging/unplugging the connector, there will be a short in the wire.
Have you ever not plugged in the headphones all the way and it sounds really low? The connection for one side is sorted over both speakers and that could be disastrous to your pc.

That is not an issue. Did you even look at the link I put up?
Here's a pic:

EDIT: You beat me to the post Bucko! I am sure those plugs will work fine with no issues.
I am fairly sure he is talking about these;

Not these;

The former will work fine, the later will short when installed or removed.

Sorry, no, I didn't look at the link. :( Those should work fine; I actually seen a modular PSU with similar plugs already installed. :up:
Airbozo, yes, I was referring to the second ones you posted...
