I still have some cleaning up and finishing touches to do on the Copper Compaq, but I had allready done some prelimanary work for another case while I was waiting on parts for the Compaq. (Yes at the moment I have two other cases on the shelf just begging for work, this bug bites hard)
Anyway I thought I might try to do more of a work log for this one. Below is a quick concept drawing for the side of the case and a couple of pics of the current case where I did some quick painting to test the color scheme I had in my head.
This is the concept for the Side, I threw on some quick colors to try and illustrate the diferent parts. The Greyish color is represents Chrome, the Bluish is Lexan, and the yellow is...well yellow.

The yellow piece is actually an intake vent, I have some flashing im going to use to make a "scoop" into the case, then finish it off with fiberglass to round it out (couldent get it to show rounding in the drawing so i left it as straight)
The scoop will have a mesh insert and be vented into the case with a fan sucking air inside.
I might possibly put the same vent on both sides as to "balance out" the look a little more.
The below is where I did some quick painting just to test the paint/color scheme I was thinking of.

I just won the auction for an Aerocool Gatewatch fan control panel on Ebay that i plan on modding into the front(removing the floppy, its a double 5.25 unit)
This was an old HP XT936 case that I just liked the look of, just trying to use theses cases for practice and fun to work up to bigger and better mods. hope it goes well =)
