I am starting with my GHOST RIDER mod, and I am about to break in half. I don't know where to look to find a Scull. Can you tell me where i can ask about that.... what kind of people sell scull models

Since my own project has some skeleton parts I also had to do some research to find a skeleton manufacturer. So far this is the cheapest site I've found that sells skulls.
http://anatomical.com/bcategory.asp?c=43
Hope this helps. If you're not satified with this site you can also do a quick search in google for a ton of sites that sell human skulls. There are even some sites that you can buy a real skull but be prepared to pay a high price for it.

You want a real skull? Be prepared to pay hundreds of dollars...
You wanna spend 10 bucks? Go to Party City or Party Supermarket, any holiday or party store will have very realistic plastic skulls for you.

A Party store dude, check in the halloween section. (I would know, I work at a party supply store)

I want to achieve this:

Tried petrol?
JOKE.....
Not sure what you're actually trying to achieve here, but I'll be very interested to see what the others come up with.

Do you actually want it to be on fire? Where are you placing the skull on the case? Also where are you plannig on keeping the case? This could be a huge safety hazard.
:eek:When you play with fire you will eventually get burned.

i Want to make it burn, when i press a button. It vill be located on the top of the case. The mechanism will be inside of scull. But i must make it somehow, so i can refill the gas. Any ideas

USING REAL FIRE IS VERY DANGEROUS!
That being said, someone added a small flamethrower to their RC robot which you should not implement.
DON'T DO IT AT ALL!
DON'T BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE!
I suggest adding a glass 'flame guard' around the skull with a hole at top to vent. You could make it out of a large glass vase or candle holder.

Aside from the obvious case of "askin for it's", I don't think using real fire would appear like the flames in that art work. In a small scale model, the flame would look kinda boring and homogenous, not feathered and full of movement. I would look for another solution than BBQing your comp.

I would suggest making flames shape out of some type of glass or plastic molded around the skull and put some colored lights in it.

I concur. Perhaps wire up some LEDs to some kind of controller that regulates how fast they flash (think Christmas tree lights).
Very cool idea, +rep.

OK, i see where is this going. I am going to put REAL fire, so i don't need other advices (like LED.....), that scull will be LARGE, and I want it to burn when I press a button. How do i make it burn like on that art work??? I managed to work out a few flame throwers, but i want it to burn like on that pic, not like it has flamethrowers.

There really is no safe way to create open flames in a controlled and reliable manner unless you are a pyrotechnic expert, and I highly encourage you to seek alternative designs.
Furthermore, No one here is permitted to post plans and directions for helping you making this very dangerous effect.
I know how to do it very dramaticaly using fans, silk fabric, colored lights and a small smoke machine.
Here is a clue (http://www.hauntedfog.com/Pop%20Ups/Distortions/cold_fire.htm)
And another clue (http://anatomical.com/bproduct.asp?pn=CS20CL)

I ran this by a couple of special effects guys I know (mostly stage though they do help with effects in local cinema efforts) and they said that under no circumstances should you even attempt anything with an open flame on a case mod, especially not over any significant surface area. These guys know what they're doing too, they've done pyrotechnics and "man on fire" effects for some movies, so they know fire.
To quote one of them, "Anything larger than a candle that isn't in a fireplace is a strong case for calling the fire department. There's just no safe way to do any sort of open flame in the environment he's talking about."
However, what about getting an LCD screen and outputting a fire effect to that for background and any of the other suggestions for the front? Might help with the effect and would certainly be cheaper than burning your house/apartment/cave down.

OK, i know it is unsafe, but i SOOOOOOO wanna do this. Anyway, I am going to get a fire extinguisher if I have to. I like the first clue Crimson, but I don't need all of that. If I can make effect like on that pic, Tell me how. It don't have to be real fire, but I want it to be realistic. And I want that scull to burn while I'm holding the button, real fire or not, but I don't want it to look stupid. I don't like the idea of LCD screen on top of my case monster. And that is pretty expensive for just displaying fire.
Furthermore, No one here is permitted to post plans and directions for helping you making this very dangerous effect.
WHY is that so? I am sure, I will think if what I am making is dangerous or not. I am using brain afterall. I wouldn't put a demo pack inside if i think it is dangerous...
Thank you all for support you gave me so far, and rep points you awarded me with, and I hope, someone has a few more ideas to share...
You are a very, very brave man.
Or made form asbestos.
Just remember, fire hurts. A lot. A very lot.
And
WHY is that so?
'Cos he's the boss. As he says, He runs the joint.
I'm sure something safer can be figured...

You can not get the flame effect in that picture without producing a large amount of smoke. Clean burning fuels like propane and camping gel create hot blue flames that are not very dramatic. The only solution would be to use a liquid fuel, which would be even more dangerous as it drips and consumes all the objects around it.
There is not a safe way to produce the kind of effect you are looking for using liquid or gas fuel. I'm sure there are plenty of other forums where you can get help with this mod. That's 25 years of special effects experience telling you this.
Furthermore, I can not see a solution to do this safely and "On Demand" by pressing a button. I'm not saying its impossible, of course it is, but it's impractical. It seems you're not looking for a burst of flames, but flames that envelope the skull.

It is so because I make the rules around here. I can not allow other members to guide you in making explosive devices. I like my members. It would break my heart to see any of them get hurt out of inexperience or foolishness.

Windows Vista Ultimate has a function where you can have a video playing as your background. If you can make a skull video, you can have it loop on your desktop. Not very dramatic but still cool.
I would +rep Crimson for those comments, but I can't. :(
Rare to hear comments like that from a forum mod nowadays.

It seems as soon as I mentioned the DreamScene video background, Engadget posts one of hell. (http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/17/vista-dreamscene-users-burn-in-hell/) You could add the skull in with a video editing program to make it fit your theme.

The idea of putting real fire on a case is cool, albeit extremely dangerous.
Here's what can go wrong:
-Burn down the building you're in
-Burn yourself
-Warp the case's metal
-Cause your components to overheat and quite possibly break
-Explosion
ESPECIALLY if you don't know what you're doing. Hell, I still get nervous when striking propane to heat up some metal to work with.

Here is a place that sells special FX stuff ranging from affordable to Fuggedaboudit, there are displays made from lights, fans, and silk that look pretty damn real. I would consider learning how to make one of these a great option. I wouldn't buy one though...

Properly expensive too, mind...
Look cool with the skull integrated somehow. Dunno how, but it would.

Yeah, I wouldn't pay that much either. But with some of the experts in special FX we have here at TBCS, I'm willing to bet a collaboration could design a home-build.

So i don't want anything else.
I agree that this:

I have an idea. If you can get an LCD projector with a very wide angle lens (epson makes a pretty small one), you could put that in your case and project it on the back of a frosted window. It would be just like how rear-projection TVs work. Of course putting an LCD in the window would be cheaper. Oh well, sounded cool to me at first. lol
EDIT: *Idea Lightbulb* Take your plastic skull, drill some holes for BRIGHT red and orange LEDs and a few more for smoke. The LEDs will illuminate the smoke and it will look like slow burning fire! Tada!

If it's anything like my mom's old train, you simply pour the fluid into the hole it comes out of. To hide it, put it centrally in the skull and maybe have a tube in the back of it leading to the generator where you can pour the fluid in a small funnel.
EDIT: I've seen the light bulb & smoke thing at Disney World and it looks pretty real. (I live 15 miles away and can see the fireworks from my roof. ;))
