Intense mindless violence interrupted by graphic scenes of sex.

Dont mean to hijack your thread but just out of curiosity who hear has seen 300?

Is it excessively gory? I don't mind a little blood and violence but i don't want to see something that amounts to an ancient version of Saw or Hills Have Eyes.

Also, I'm assuming that by graphic sex scenes you just mean general nakedness and breasts. Its not like watching "artistic" pron is it?

I've seen it.

I can't say if it was like "Saw" or "The Hills Have Eyes", but there's some scenes in there where a person gets a leg cut off, or a head cut off, or speared in the face. There's also a LOT of blood in this movie (well, more like a realistic amount, but there's a lot of killing).

And the nakedness is just breasts and general nakedness, plus a dude's ass.

i Saw it, it was awesome

I'm not sure why no one has heard of it..

I thought it was great, you could have taken a picture in any second of the movie, and it would have looked like a professional photographer had taken it.

They filmed about 3/4ths of the movie inside with green screens.

Thanks ill have to think about it. It looks like it could be good, I'm just sort of a pansy when it comes to excessive gore.

The acting really wasnt amazing, but the incredible graphics and cinematography, made up for it.

Well, the movie wasn't really about anything but fighting, so the non-fighting scenes were useless fluff, for the most part.

I was warned by a friend about this flick, and for the most part he was right. Here is my take; If you know nothing about the battle of Thermopolye historically and love CGI violence, it's a great movie. Very imaginative, action-packed, dramatic (though rittled with over-acting), and visually stunning. Of course, historically butchered (however there were some accuracies) and one-sided. This movie makes monsters of the Persians (modern day Iranians...hmmm...). Oh, well. There was plenty of violence.

Well the movie was based on a Frank Miller graphic novel so yeah, you really can't worry so much about actual history when watching this film.

I'm well aware of that, my disappointment came from the fact that the accurate history is actually a better story.

Well it's true. =/

After the sex scene with King Leonidas and his wife, it shows King Leonidas's ass as he stands naked and looks out over Sparta.

Well, last time I checked, the movie was about the Battle of Thermopolae, not King Leonidas boning his wife. ;)

Now that I know he has sex with his wife

A guy having sex with his wife isn't exactly the biggest giveaway. As far as plot twists go, it would certainly rank in the bottom 5.
