So his tour is finished altogether, or is it just a break before heading back?
Glad a relative of yours made it back unlike so many others.
It's a **** war, but that isn't the Troops fault. They just do their job to the best of their abilities.
Of course, the Aussies do it better! :D

Glad to hear he made it out. I'm going back sometime this fall and not sure how long I'm going to be there yet.

Well, this tour is finished. I'm sure he'll be on the next rotation next year. Aussies are cool man. If I ever get the chance again to visit, I'm NOT passing it up.

Be safe bro. Semper Fi.

Sgtm,
Tell him congrats and job well done. The politics of this war are way too complicated.
Spacehonky,
I feel ya, we all have deployments looming if this thing continues. I've been already been twice.
Bucko,
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, oi, oi. I got a chance to experience Aus on my way back from my first deployment. There is something in the water over there. The women are pretty amazing.

Sadly, until Bush is gone, it'll never be over.
(but that doesn't mean I want an idiot like Hilary Clinton for president)
(actually, disregard this post. I know nothing of politics.)

Sadly, you have no idea what you're talking about.
I am sure you are one of the people who think think that since Bush didn't sign the Kyoto Treaty, El Nino got worse and caused more hurricanes and that's why New Orleans got flooded.
When you are old enough to vote, (and I hope that you do) you'll probably vote in someone like Hillary and the ruination he/she brings down on our country will of course all be blamed on Bush and everything he set into motion...
Funny how noone blames the guy that gassed or bombed his own people, it's our fault for selling weapons in the past. Noone blames the people that flew planes into bldgs, it's all our fault for not being Muslim.
Yes, this war has had it's problems and our president (who I willingly voted for) has made some mistakes, but you need to wake up and take a look at the world around you. There is evil out there that needs to be stopped and if it isn't, it's gonna be people like you getting their head cut off on the nightly news, but it won't be in Baghdad, it will be on Oak Street.

Not to get into a political flame war here, but hating the puppet is like screaming at MR. Hand. Cheney and Rumsfield are the true face of evil. Those 2 go _way_ back to Nixon with Bush SR. (Including when he was director of the CIA). Shrub is just in the spotlight and gets blamed for everything. Cheney and Rummy knew what toys Saddam was playing with because their names are on the delivery receipt. They also knew/know that there were no wmd's because of the shelf life of those chemicals had long expired and Saddam had not gotten to the point of creating more (one of the real reasons for the invasion), but was trying REAL hard. I have no issue with the Afghanistan maneuver, but cannot condone what we have done to Iraq (although the dictator we put in charge HAD to go).
GO ahead Flame me. I am NOT a republican. I am NOT a democrat. My voter registration clearly indicates that I am a member of "The Yahoo Party". The republicans seem too closely tied to the religious right and big business (where is the outrage over Haliburton? That is the REAL crime here) and the democrats seem not to have any direction at the moment. I say abolish ALL parties and elect a "man on the street" kind of person.
I am Happy that _anyone_ comes home from war! I am sure your aunt is feeling joy like she has never felt in a long time! Good thoughts to all the family!

Heh heh, I'm more or less in the "Anti-Political" Party, population me. They make it seem like a sports game or something, getting elected, only the players are all morons, and there are the same two teams every game. There doesn't seem to be freedom of speech anymore either, I got kicked out of school due to saying something stupid, and then people reported me for saying something different than I said. Oh, and those harassing me didn't get into any sort of trouble either, they're still doing their stupid thing. But seriously, there needs to be a little competition in things, but it doesn't need to go too far. Our government is skuh-rewed up, and we kinda need an overhaul in that department. They also need to tell the truth. Let me tell you a story. Back in Omaha, NE, where I used to live, there was a man, who told the truth, and genuinely cared and did what he thought best for the city as mayor, but people didn't like the truth, oh no, next election, this guy was gone, and they elected in some ass that decided to shorten library hours, etc., and cut funding to many services, and his daughter was busted for drug use the night after he was elected. Messed up place we live in, but it's not as bad as it could be...
