Geh disgusting. I am a fan of the classic cars, I like the chevies and mustangs from back in the day. I'm looking into a 69' mustang. They have the big block 460's, Those engines cost a hella-lot. I looked at the Summit racing catalog, they only had one engien that big, and it was $13,000.

I look at this video and his engine isn't even a 302. Its tiny, lol a 900 horse-power engine couldn't even move a 69' mustang.

GT40_GearHead

lol !

its not a
a 900 horse-power engine its a 47 hp 3 cilinder engine ;)

god damn it, its a metro what do you expect it to have in it :D

ps: i must say i love to grand finally !!!

lol 47 horsepower engine? Where did he get that? A go kart?

GT40_GearHead

noup, no go-kart, that is the stock engine

Guardian

Get rid of that thing FAST. If I ever get my hands on a 69' mustang, Im sticking a 445 horse WORLD 460 crate motor inside with a viodtech supercharger.

GT40_GearHead
03-19-2007, 03:03 PM
WORLD does some great engines, but i would ditch the charger, for every psu of boost you get x2 the head ache, until you know it, you have to intercool it and so on

i say, go with natural aspiration, hey it works for F1, i dont see why it wouldn't work for you lol

and one other thing, on a boosted motor its just a mater of time until something pops

Guardian

Voidtechs are really small, on a stock car, there about as big as the black palstic box which holds on the air filter. If you're at a show or somthing, someone looks at you're stuff and goes "lookit that little thing, that boost probabley does nothing" and all you can tell em is "alright you're right. you wanna go?" becuase those superchargers are small, but they give 1 hella boost. Maybe 4 grand for a really nice one.

Yeah you get alot of headaches with em, but then again, you can't work on cars and say you never get any headaches.

but then again, you can't work on cars and say you never get any headaches.

I agree !

but i like the KISS priniciple

PS one other thing you should consider is, nitrous, you get a much more drivable engine, and a much better millage

Guardian
03-20-2007, 10:34 AM
Haha well ofcourse i'll have some of that, Or else 9 Seconds would get into the $20,000+ region. I like world engines becuase they have really low compression so they do well with nitrous, The one I picked out (Man0War) one with the 460 comes with limited edition cams, stock with 600 horses and 8:1:0 compression. You heard the sound of the thing and you'd **** you're pants.

There's no replacement for displacement. Except technology.. and BOOST.

And another rare Enzo bites the dust....

http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/2007/SHOWBIZ/Movies/03/27/people.eddiegriffin.ap/story.griffin.ap.jpg

IRWINDALE, California (AP) -- Eddie Griffin crashed a rare Ferrari Enzo worth $1.5 million into a concrete barrier while practicing at a racetrack Monday, destroying the car but escaping uninjured.

The comedian was practicing for a charity race to promote his upcoming film, "Redline," when he drove too fast around a curve at the Irwindale Speedway. Video footage showed the red sports car screeching before it ricocheted off the barrier with heavy damage to its front.

"Undercover Brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can't drive," Griffin, referring to one his past films, said after the accident.

The film's publicist, Wendy Zocks, said Griffin was "doing OK."

"He walked away completely unscratched, but probably a little shaken," Zocks said.

The Enzo, valued at around $1.5 million, was owned by the executive producer of "Redline," Daniel Sadek, whose exotic car collection is featured in the movie.

Sadek said that the car was damaged beyond repair and that he had "mixed feelings" about the wreck.

"I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash OK, but my dream car got destroyed," Sadek said. "I went to my trailer for about 15 minutes and I thought, there's people dying every day. A lot of worse things are happening in the world."

Only 400 Ferrari Enzos were ever produced, all between 2002 and 2004.

Griffin's credits include the comedies "Undercover Brother"; "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" and its sequel; "Date Movie"; and "Norbit."

man that's bull **** !!!

i feel my stomach shrink when i see cars of this pedigree, if that would be my car i would have scalped the stupid ****, not to mention that if would have been mine, no one and mean NO ONE would drive it beside me

though the owner was funny

I woulda murdered someone if they F-ed up my dream car.

See I don't get it, how does driving a Ferrari help a commedian? Lmao I mean you're either funny or you're not. Nothings going to change the way you think, Certainly not driving a Million dollar car.

BTW: There Ferrari isn't "dead", I'd say a few hundred K and it'll be back up. The body isn't important, the engine is, I've you've ever been to the Auto show in NYC (Paul I know you have), Most Ferrari's and Maseratis Bumpers and body kits and stuff are made out of light-wieght plastic and fiber. Easily replacable, However the preformance part of Ferrari's arn't cheap, The same $200 shocks you can put into you're hundai are $5000 for a Ferrari. My dads BMW was trying to charge him $900 for a friggin Hub-Cap.

That Ferrari looks dead to me. Once that carbon fiber chassis is busted, that car is gone.

Guardian
03-27-2007, 10:46 AM
hmm By the photo crimson posted, I myself could probabley fix that up, remember body kits are easy to replace, now ofcourse the value of the car will go down since its not the ORIGINAL body but it'll look like new. Just have weld on a new fender and what-not if its damaged.

You will never in your life, have the skills to be able to repair a Ferrari Enzo. There is no "Kit" for an Enzo. The entire front frame is destroyed.

Weld carbon fiber? You reckon you could fix that?
And where exactly are you going to buy the parts from? Pep Boys?

Hahaha...this is the dumbest thing i ever heard. Hey, CERN just got off the phone, they want me to fix their high energy particle accelerator. All i got is some cheese, a bit of wire, and an old toothbrush. I told them no problemo!

With the Rare cars, its like breaking an antique. You MIGHT be able to glue it back together, givin the fact you have the skills, TIME, and yoou haven't lost any of the peices.

It's just one of those things where the only thing you have to say is "****"

@ Guardian: Bucko is right man, if the carbon fiber in that monocoque chassis starts to delaminate there is no way to repair it properly

on visual inspection it might look like the damage is only to the body panel, but if that left wheel tried to move even half an inch backward it busted the mounting points in the C/F

maybe insurance will give him enough money to buy a used one, I would think that if he would waive the right sum he wouldn't have any issues finding one !

Bucko

The suspension and components are actually mounted on an aluminum frame.
IT give some crash protection.
Here's an Enzo on the production line before the front body panels are put on:
