my sister made a duct tape wallet a while back...i dont know if they have it around there but up here there is a duct tape company who gives a scholarship to people who wear duct tape outfits to the prom. Someone i know did that in high school and has the pictures. a duct tape tux and his date had a duct tape dress...classic

I knew a person who made many duct tape wallet back in the day. That was back in junior high school. Now they can afford real ones made of genuine fake animal skin.

The durability of leather at the price of dirty rocks. Can't say it will get you a date, but it will definitely save you a couple bucks.

i made a case one time out of duct tape and cardboard, it even hade a window in the side panel. it worked really good for awhile but then the duct tape wouldnt stick to the cardboard and it just kinda fell apart. i used cheap duct tape, so that was the problem. if i had gotten better stuff i might still have a cardboard case, lol

I used to run a duct tape business, in fact, it was my first business venture that eventually ended up setting me off into the world of commerce.

I stock 23 colors of duct tape, and can make you a wallet, backpack, hat, purse, tuxedo, shirt, pants, shoes, flip flops, bracelet, flowers, tie, dress, etc.

For halloween one year, I was duct-tape man, with a cape and a "D" on my chest. It was prety awesome...

awesome = totally lame

I think one kid at my school was talking about using duct tape in the place of Band-Aids... and I think it didn't work too well either, especially the removal part. :D

Funny story.

I'm on a US FIRST robotics team. Somebody cut their finger, so they took a greasy paper towel and duct taped it in place. brilliant. [/sarcasm]

Seriously Omega? Thats awesome, I'm trying to put together a team for next year... too bad me and my friend are the only ones into it. We are almost completed our first robot - a cnc machine. Thats right, CNC machines are indeed robots, and so far, we've been sponsored over $1000 in materials and parts for the machine as well as software!

Back on topic. The duct tape prom competition has been around for a while now, and I'm considering doing it for my prom when that date rolls around. However, thats going to be a while from now. For now I'll keep selling stuff at my school, which, believe it or not, yields me a decent amount of cash. OVer the years I've had to have made maybe 1 grand, and thats not pushing a real business or anything, but just making the occasional this or that for friends.

Yeah, Seriously. I'ma go make a thread on FIRST robotics now.

EDIT: Oh, but getting a decent robot out your rookie year is so freaking hard. 5,000$ for registration and such, then a 3,500$ budget for parts for the robot plus all the kit parts and a bunch of rules -- If you can get sponsored, though, that's great.

Team 675 has some sponsors.
MV Transportation, Tellabs, Unicorn Properties, Transit Maintnence Consultants, Goebel Paving, RHL Design Group, Greg Weaver, Kay Dorner, and a bunch of parents, too (Like Meri Melani, the "Team Mom").
