Hi guys,

I want to start modding and I'd like my first victim to be my Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0.

I'm going to spray paint it and change the LED to blue.

Any tips especially about the paint are much much welcomed.

Wish me luck!

Welcome aboard! I know you have 30 posts, just don't remember seeing you around before.

Sounds like it's going to be a fun mod. I know I had fun with mine. Do you have a certain theme you are going for?

Thank you, I subscribed to TBCS Forums a year ago, posted some then was cutoff due to exams and other stuff! Good to be back though.

The theme is the problem, you get all of these ideas but they are always too complicated to be done. Where do you draw the line?? Especially because mice are the only oval objects in a rectangular world! If I use stencil, I'm not sure I can pull it off without mutilating it.

I'll think of something and get back to you on the theme!

Thanks again.

Have a look at my mouse. (link is my sig). I used a sticker on it. It was a pain to get flat. Anyway, it proves you can get good results with stickers and spray paints if you take your time.

I can't find a primer in spray form, however it is available in a tin, can I put in a spray bottle like one of those window cleaners?? What do you think?

I doubt it will work very well. You'd need to thin it down to pump through, which isn't a problem, but the spray pattern will be pretty bad and not real even.
Is there no car parts shops where you are? That's where I normally buy my spray primer from.

I think I can work around it. I'll have to give it a try.
