Hey everyone.
I bought a G5 and tricked it out with a new paint job. I love the G5 it's my first good mouse, it's a great gaming mouse.

Nice! i'm thinking about painting my G5 but the oil on my hands would mess up the paint pretty fast. What did u do to prevent this, just a clear coat or is it more intensive?

I use automotive paint. Duplicolor to be exact. I use duplicolor clear as the clear coat. It's a little finicky but it seems to last as long as I can tell. I've painted a couple of mice using this paint and never had a problem. The automotive clear coat is pretty bombproof from what I can tell. I've never seen it wear off. I use like 4 coats then sand then wait a week and then 4 more coats and sand and polish.

Well you kinda have to put it in context.
Spray real light coat.
Wait 10 min then another light coat.
Wait 10 min then medium coat.
Wait 10 min then one last medium to heavy coat.
Wait 1 week, then sand with 1000 grit, then 1500 grit.
Spray real light coat.
Wait 10 min then another light coat.
Wait 10 min then medium coat.
Wait 10 min then one last medium to heavy coat.
Wait a day or 2, sand with 1000 grit, then 1500 grit
Then buff it out with 3M rubbing compound.
Then if your feeling like you want showroom type finish. After 3-4 weeks use a little car wax. No need to not use whatever you painted, just clean it off before you put some wax on it.
I know this sounds like alot, but it's really not. This is pretty much how they paint cars professionally. A good clear coat makes any paint job look awesome. You could clearcoat a finger painting and it would look professional.

Any pics or how-i-did-it's for this mouse? I'm interested in how many layer you used. Was this airbrush? or spraypaint? give me some INSIDER info!!!!
Yeah,
I did a tutorial on how I do flames a while back. This is the same technique I used for this mouse. I hope this helps. Here's a quick link.
