Is there anyway that i can upload gb colur games from a cartridge onto my pc? I really wanted to know cuz a few of the games i have are pretty good. (Mortal Kombat4) Just so i could archive the files and play them on my pc instead of that crappy screen. (pixels are fun though,) Any suggestions?

No hardware solution that I know of. You download the MAME software and then must download the games separately. You are only supposed to d'load the games you already own on cartridge. It has been a while since I played with any of the MAME software, but last time I tried it, defender on MAME brought my system to it's knees...

Thoes games were designed for the resolution of the GB. Using your computer monitor insted of the 3inch(dont quote me on the size) screen would make the pixel's bigger and very hard on the eyes.

50 pixel, pixel anyone?

YEAH! ROCK ON DUDE!

You guys do know that it would be easier to just get a gameboy emulator and rom right? Just a simple google search away. I don't think its illegal, even if it is, you already bought the game right?

This forum does not deal with downloads, even if you already own the game. ROMs are debated too much to discuss it here. And if I can download without needing proof that I do own it, it means I could steal it if I wanted.

I've looked for a way to backup NES and GB games to a computer before, but haven't found anything. If anyone finds a good product like this I would totally give +Reps.

I'm not certain on the legality of this: i think, as you own the original rom, it's perfectly legal for you to upload the software.

However, there have been 2 attempts by two separate companies to make a device that does what you want; both times, Nintendo sued the company and had the product withdrawn, on the grounds that it would lead to piracy. Obviously, some exist still, as you can get these ROMs through illegal means, but they aren't commercially available, and are probably being made by hardware hackers.

Well look, this kind of device HAS to exist, or else where would all the Gameboy roms come from?

Exactly!

Back in the days of the NES, I was at SGI (you did know the NES had a MIPS processor and graphics by sgi?), they had a module for the Indy that allowed you to create the roms and program new games, then burn a CD to send to the factory to produce a new cartridge. You could actually play the games on the Indy (which had better graphics and processors). They guarded them like GOLD. You had to give your ID AND have permission to check them out of the spares locker. One of the guys in my group was able to get several sgi games working on the NES, including a flight sim. We did not have access to creating a cartridge though.
