My dad's buying parts for a PC, and I'm posting the list of what I've found so far, lemme know if I have anything wrong on there... and it's hard to find a good deal on a reasonable PC these days, how annoying...
CPU
Same as the one in my PC (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819116249)
Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186060)
The video card we already have.
We're gonna swap RAM from my PC to this one, and get me some better RAM.
Heatsink

PSU is the same as mine.
Case will be the same as mine. but silver.
Gonna give him my HDD and I'll get a good, but inexpensive SATA.
Got a LiteOn DVD Burner, looked good to me.
Asus wireless PCI card, reviews were mixed, but there wasn't much choice.
XP Pro, by far the most expensive individual component.
...and I believe that's it, if I forgot anything, or if something won't work, please let me know.

That particular Pentium D is great for overclocking I hear. I think I heard that from Toms Hardware.
The list looks good to me.

Okay, cool...
That's the CPU that I have in my rig, it works great, and my mobo allows me to OC really easy, and progbuddy showed me how yesterday, but I'm not gonna mess around with it for now, he did OC it up to 2.8ghz though.

Ahh, nevermind... I'm not getting new stuff for my PC or building a kickass one for my brother, my dad's just getting him a stupid HP and I'm going to have less to do and a "not as awesome as it could be" computer... *sigh* I would love to have that SATA HDD and that better RAM, ah well... maybe if I go back to work sometime within this century...

Tell your dad that he's buying some canned poop.
Do. Not. Buy. Branded. Computers. It's the worst **** someone can buy. And sorry for the bad words, but it's automatically linked with HP, Compaq, Dell, and other desktop computer brands. (Notebooks and laptops are better from them)
And here's a guide to how overclock your D805 proccy to 4+ GHz.
http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/05/10/dual_41_ghz_cores/
Note that you will need a good power supply that will gives you AT LEAST 500+W of power.
FSB
133 MHz (Normal) 2.66 GHz
140 MHz 2.80 GHz
150 MHz 3.00 GHz
160 MHz 3.20 GHz
166 MHz 3.33 GHz
170 MHz 3.40 GHz
180 MHz 3.60 GHz
190 MHz 3.80 GHz
200 MHz (WaterCooling) 4.00 GHz
205 MHz 4.10 GHz
210 MHz (High) 4.20 GHz
215 MHz (Top) 4.30 GHz
You can get your CPU at 3.33GHz on stock air, but it will run hot. 4GHz speeds will require watercooling unless you wanna run it on HOT air.
You can first up your FSB from 133 to 166. This will (or should) unlock new memory speeds, and will help you stabilize that computer.
You can still up the FSB to 180 on stock voltage and the processor should be still stable. At 180MHz, your memory should follow that gain and you will have a nice overall performance gain.
Enjoy! :)

Thanks, for the tips on OC'ing, I'll probably get around to doing that later... maybe up it to 3.0ghz... well, knowing how my brother is, it's probably better to just buy him an HP, they (supposedly) have tech support, and he doesn't need high end, just high enough to play Oblivion, which he is obsessed with getting.
I happen to have _two_ (2) brothers, so I can use that setup to build the other brother one, the one that could use a better computer than the stupid laptop he's on now... maybe when he gets a job and saves up, and I chip in or something, plus I'm graduating, having my Eagle Scout Ceremony, and something else that I can't think of soon, so I've got plenty opportunities for mooching off of people for PC parts :devious: so I'll get my SATA HDD and not just one gig, but _two_ gigs of awesome RAM, so this compy is gonna kick total a**. :glasses::up:
