xbox stuff

so i am hookin my xbox up to my computer with a crossovercable. my computers connected by an ethernet cord to a router

i figured out how to play live with my xbox with this setup for like a day. but now whenever i try to connect it says the dns could not be found.


what can i do??

You have to use a straight-through cable and hook it up to your router, or use the crossover method with a network connection bridge.

yeah, i did bridge the connection, and it worked the first time i did it.

but then i unbridged the connection and now it wont work

Then re-bridge the connection.

That's the obvious solution.

Well then just go get a normal network cable and use that directly to the router.

Make sure you enable ICS (internet connection sharing) on your PC. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/234815)

i would run a normal ethernet, but i would have to buy another 50 footer, an my mom would get pissed off, she already doesnt like the one running down the hall

That's why I can't wait to get off my fat ass and network my xBox to my PC. There'd only be the Crossover cable.

I'm tempted to do an ICS to a little 5-port switch I have for when people come over to my house and spend the night xD

yeah, my computers right next to the xbox, so when i get a new live account i can bridge myself connection host in matchmaking halo.

it makes it so much better, it stops all bad calls!
