hi all! i'm really new to computer mods (and i'm very very very noobish when it comes to computers in general...i know how to Log in to World of Warcraft and look for ummm "stuff" on the net =p ) anyways, i'm building a new rig and wanted to put hinges onto the side panel. Its a Antec 900 case. i was wondering if there was a specific type of hinges you all could recomend and where i could purchase them... i'm very proficient with hand/power tools however, so drilling and such isnt an issue. i would however like the hinges to be concealed inside of the case (similiar to the Fatility case, that would be ideal).

i also was wondering if there is any merit in making the panel itself "air tight" when its closed, as in putting any kind of seal/sealer/liner around the edges of the panel to help promote air flow throughout the case.

any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi,

im also looking into hinges to fit onto the side panel as i want to fit a gas strut like the ones on a car boot hatch, which would lift the panel up instead of opening like a normal door ive been looking at smalll piano hinges which seem to fit the bill pretty well.

no idea about the panel being air tight i suppose it it was a major factor manufacturers would have done somthing about it.

hope this helps

I made my own hinges from some corner blocks and some decorative hinges i got from B&Q.

You can see how i did it in my worklog. I designed them so that i could swing the front door out and away, instead of just away, so that it wouldn't interfere with the CD rom drives. The hinges seem to work fairly well, and don't look too bad, although if there was any part of the case i'm least happy with it would still be those.
