I was wondering if anyone knew of some electronic design software (prefferably free) that would allow me to design simple circuits

I used Crocodile technology whilst in school but was wondering if anyone knew of others

Just do a google...I found this one rather quickly, don't know if it's exactly what you need:

I highly recommend

I bought the retail version at Maplins but they apparently sell a student version and have a trial version on their website.

I am a rookie at this so I found it very easy to use. It may be common in most design packages, but I really liked being able to simulate the circuit. It can also output pcb and vero board layouts.

I used it to design this board for my Retromod project to simulate a momentary switch with a radio knob. The software was key in figuring out the capacitor and resistor sizing to get the right pulse.

While not what you're looking for, I also found this electronics kit helpful in testing the circuit before soldering. I'd guess that Maplins has something similar.

I think I should learn all of this electrical stuff. it would probably provide me with a lot of useful knowledge that I could use to help me with modding, as well as other computer related things, and just general electrical device fun.
