View Full Version : What do you think of the Handbook?

For those of you who haven't checked it yet, the TBCS handbook launched this morning; at the moment, it contains nothing more than the rules and some FAQ's. However, over time we want to expand it with things such as guides to making good worklogs, and other stuff that our visitors (i.e. you) might find useful. As you can see, the threads are locked to keep it nice and clean.
Let us know what you think, and more importantly, what you'd like to see added to the TBCS Handbook. If you want to write something for it, drop me a PM, and i'll let you know if someone else is already working on it. (Be warned, if you want to write, we will mercilessly edit your work!)
Anyway, feedback on this would be nice. Be sure to also check out the new forum rules, re-written to make them easier to understand.
Thanks guys!

Where? Let me know. There's also potential differences between US/UK spellings so i'm not worried about those...

Hehe the Kings English and, well, the paupers english...
I like it. Can't say that I have anything I would like to see added. Oh yeah, congrats Airbozo and DaveW on your 5th rep bars.

Now that you've let the cat out of the bag regarding the Secret Agent status, does that mean we're all going to die? :D
Seriously, looks superb. Keep up the good work man!
I inaccuracy I noticed--Members get the custom title and 100 message storage @ 25 rep, not two bars (40 rep iirc)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that particular cat has been let out of the bag just yet.

From The TBCS Handbook:
gaz_the_chav, Aero, nil8, tybrenis, XcOM: The TBCS Secret Agents are guys who help out behind the scenes. Currently still in training, when these guys are ready to roll, trust us when we say you'll know all about it.

ah yes
well, that doesn't really tell you much more than you already knew, right?
Trust me, there's a lot more to it than that. A lot more really, really cool stuff.

Didn't notice it until i saw this thread, good job :)Yeah, me too. But I tend to look at my subbed threads, then new posts rather than the actual forums.
Anyway, shouldn't this thread (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7354) be in it?

That thread will get added when Rankenphile is happy with his explanation. I'm trying to track down a few other threads, like Tybrenis' images thread, as well; i just can't remember where they've all gone!

Dave, here is my image thread (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6515) which also has a link to Tybrenis' images thread in it.
Tybrenis did mention "Way to own my thread"...

Its good to see a central repository of rules. Makes the forum easier to run for our hardworking mods.

Oooooh.... curiouser and curiouser.....

Sounds good. Now you have a place to put all those 'Rep. Explained' threads.
Is it a Forum guide only, or will there be modding guides...?
Sounds like a stupid question..........
The Hand book is simply a guide for the forums.
Modding guides are still in the "Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials" section.

I looked at both and decided that yours went into the most detail. (Sorry Ty! Nothing personal!) Anyway, it's now a part of the handbook. The link to Tybrenis' thread remains all the same. :)

Good, cos you're booked on a teleportation break! The satellites in space will pick up your morphic signal, lock onto it, and then teleport you straight to a suitable location in Gurnee IL. It'll feel like you never left home. :D
