ok...so here is the beginning of my first mod...it's not nearly as ambitious as some of the geniuses on this site...nor am I as talented, but here it is. I acquired an old MicronPC Client pro from a guy at work...any free case is a good case :) This project is also my first adventure with spray painting...so far it's been a little frusturating as the weather hasn't really cooperated and it's plastic yeesh. Here are a few basic pics...more to come later

As I stated in the rep I gave you, you will learn to hate that case lol. I've got a Micron Client Pro PIII era case (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7283) that I'm slowly destroying. A word of advice: if that beast has metal behind the plastic, GET RID OF IT. Nothing but a headache, and if you decide to keep it intact, I will almost guarantee that Drew (one of the regulars here) will call you a pillock lol.
Looks interesting so far, I have to admit, I do like the blue. Keep up the good work, and I will look forward to seeing how this pans out for you!

A first mod does not need to be ambitious. The best way to learn is to try simple things at first and work your way up to the more complex and learn talent as you go.
Your painting looks to be better than my first attempt was so your are already doing good. I like the color you used too. Good luck
Stupid question but did you actualy strip the case before painting or have you only done the side panel so far.
Also what is that thing in your 3.5" bay above the floppy & next to the usb? It is a card reader or laptop PC card reader or something else?

about the painting....I did strip, sand and prime the entire case, and I have 3 coats of color put down on the entire case as well. But something weird happened...the top, front and bottom piece came out GREAT...freaking beautiful...but the two sides ended up with this texture. It's almost like sandpaper, and I can't really sand it off. It's weird because I didn't do anything different, I applied each coat to each piece at the same time. I finally decided to say screw it and I'm putting the clear coat on. I'm learning. As far as what that thing is...there was some sort of weird card/zip disk reader thing that used to be there, and then I found that little plate to take up the space...I ended up painting it green. I'll get some more pics up later this afternoon.
I also decided that I am going to mod an older 40gig HD I have laying around...add a window and throw in a diffused green LED and then work it into the case somehow so that it can be seen. Maybe cut out the top and mount it there...I dont really know yet...definitely open to suggestions. Thanks for the support!

Make sure that 40Gb drive isn't important. Any dust in it will kill it. You have to be really careful when modding a drive.

Here is what I was talking about with the texture that showed up on the side panels of my case

And here's the front...the rest of the case came out like this. This only has one coat of clearcoat on it...still need to sand it and add a few more coats

unfortunately this project has come to a halt...I'll post another picutre of the top and front panel later (they came out the best) but due to unforseen circumstances, this project has been nixed. boo. In happier news, I am hoping to finish my harddrive mod this evening! SCORE!
