lots of them!
My Logitech one was only about AU$20. I got it at K-Mart.
Heck, I got one included with a game when I bought Auto Assault for AU$60.

I can't see you needing to spend anywhere near US$50 for a headset.

I have a $50 Logitech USB Headset that the speakers are messed up on. :( I'd recommend getting a cheaper pair with earphones that aren't mounted like crap. Look around, you're sure to find a good deal and headphones seem to be abundant. :D

The last time I spent a bunch of money on a pretty simple device I was highly disappointed.

I have this logitech gaming headset and it's great. When I do occasionally talk everyone says it's loud and clear. Oh yeah, it was 20 bucks and sounds awesome.

That's pretty much what mine is, but that isn't what he is looking for apparently.

We have a winner.
Sennheiser(you did spell it right) makes anything from 20 dollar midrange headphones up to 1000 dollar professional recording equipment.
Give them a look, you won't be disappointed.

They are the only headphone company I will use anymore. They make great products that last a long time.

I found a headset that I know a lot of gamers use, its a really good set. The only downside is that its not a true headset, its headphones that come with a mic. Icemat Siberia. I broke my last pair and sent them an email, got the replacement a couple of days ago. Really love them, they are around a bit expensive but not overly so. Good luck on your search.

I'm a big fan of the plush earpieces because i dont like the regular foam things.

I have had this set: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106069
They worked great until i busted them.
Now I have this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826265009
These ones sound better and I like the mic on it better as well.

Both only 20 bucks.
