This might be a silly question...I am going to be installing a window on a case that I am currently working on...I have spent a little time looking around the forum and found a few different pictures of other peoples mods and it looks like they just used fan screws through the plexi and into the case. Is this the best way to do it? How do you drill threaded holes? Is it necessary to drill threaded holes? AHH! :bunny:

Do a google for "button head socket screws" or "socket head cap screws" They are clean looking and inexpensive, even in stainless steel. I like to use nylon nuts and washers with them.

Awesome...much appreciated! Is there a standard size? Or just whatever floats your boat? The prices aren't bad either!

Even on bought cases you see a lot of bolts/screws when it comes to the window. So yea, my best is is to go with the links crimson popped up

You can get some 8/32, 10/32, 10/24 size for most case mod applications just to have an assortment. if you like black color, just get the steel ones, a box of 50 (depending on size) or so will be about $20--or just buy the nicer chrome ones individually.

one little side note, when you drill the holes, leave the protective waxpaper coating on the plexiglass to protect it from any roughness that may occur during drilling. Also, bolts aren't the only solution. I usually use a high strength silicone based adhesive (1/2 ton rating) to adhere an oversized piece of plexiglass to the backside of the case panel.
