Hey Guys,

I have seen alot of computer cases out on the market lately that are compartmentalized (I don't care if it's not a word): that is, they separate out the various parts of the computer into different sections. This idea makes alot of sense to isolate heat sources and give each section its own fan/s. But that's in theory.

Does anyone know if this actually would help with air cooling, or if the effect is negligible?

Thanks.

Sure it does. Ive often wondered if a partition wall between the cpu/mem and the cards would be a good idea. Trying to think up a way to do a smoke type experiment to see the direction the fans blow and whatnot. Ive decided agianst the water cooling based on an experiment between a zalman copper cpu cooler and a coolermaster water cpu cooler on a P5N32-SLI Premium w/Pentium D 3.6 960 the temperature with the coolermaster was 27°centigrade Idle Temp the Zalman copper cooler was 29°centigrade Idle Temp. And before you go posting YES i did turn the computer off for 2+ hours before the cooler switch. I returned the water cooler not worth the money for the difference in cpu temp. I Used the smilodon case.

More than likely I will try out one of the Zalman Water coolers when i have the extra dough.
