well, didn't quite know where to put this, here or ice box, if this would be better in ice box someone please move it. Anyway...I've had my Evga 7600GS for about a month now and today the fan (turbine?) went out, no mods or overclocking at all. Anyone ever have an issue with this? should i get myself an aftermarket cooler or should I just return it and spend a 20 dollar restocking fee? I'd really like to just get a new cooler but I've only seen 1 cooler that says it's compatible with the card, this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118006 Anyone know of a different one with good specs or am i right in thinking this is my only option?

return it and get a passively cooled one, or spend a couple bucks more, and get the 7600gt passively cooled from xfx or something...

you have to look at it this way. spend an extra 50 bucks for a new heatsink, same card, or return for 20 bucks, spend an extra 30, solve the problem, and get a new better card in the process. but.. thats just me, and i could be wrong. im not sure which card you bought, whether it was 125 bucks or the 89 dollar one. so.. if you have the cheap one, and the price to upgrade isnt the same, then id say go with your zalman, because there arent really too many others that are made to fit that card that will do what you want them to do for that price.

I'm only a fan of Passive Cooling if you have adequate airflow in your case. But, you really can't go wrong with a Zalman. So I say go with the Zalman.

or you could aways take bart's advice. Spend 50 bucks and get an upgrade. But I'm not a graphics fiend. An X1600XT does it fine for me. But then again... I don't really even need anything more than a X300. Heck, I'm almost fine with stock graphics. lol
