ive just been made aware that AMD has slashed prices once again. So, if you are still hardcore AMD fan, and want that X2 AMD chip, now would be the time.

Get that X2 6000 3.0GHZ, faster than the FX-62 (2.8GHZ) for $289.99 CAD

OMG prices so low. Are they hurting that bad? I remember before the core2 came out i was looking to get an Athlon 64 X2. Then the core 2 came out and i changed my mind. These prices though... they are just so low compared to what they were, ALMOST makes me want to buy one but i probably wont.

Great link.

AMD is getting owned in the processor market. This price drop means one of two things, they're about to debut something new and dumping their current inventory or they're trying to remain competitive with the price/performance of intel.
Either way, if you're planning a project and like AMD, now would be the time to buy. The next thing to drop will be AM2 mobos.

They're trying to generate money for the Barcelona project.

I sure hope barcelona is an amazing processor for amd's sake. I was a originally an amd fan but the core 2 duo is just too good.

Yeah. Once Intel switches to the 45 nm process, AMD is through. Intel will lower their prices forcing AMD out of the market.

Here come the monopoly police ;)

I don't think so. AMD has survived a long hard battle and they are smart & sharp in their market. They won't be gone anytime soon.

I can't wait to buy an AMD/ATI rig in a couple of years for gaming & overclocking. If AMD plays their cards right, they can take a good chunk of the gamer/hobbyist market, which gets bigger and bigger every day.

Man i hate technology. I bought my amd64 4800 x2 a couple months ago for the same price that i can buy a 6000 now.

I don't think AMD will be going out of business any time soon. Maybe in a few months they will be back on top.
