First off I would like to say that all of you do great work. I found this site from a link on camaroz28.com about the doom 3 project. I have been lurking for a few months now and finally decided to post. I am a true modder at heart. I look for ways to mod everything that I own. I have completely modded out my 94 z28. The only thing that looks stock on it is the taillights. I have fully fiber glassed the interior and even modded the sparco seats to better accommodate my larger size. I added a body kit which I molded in and have even modded the engine. Its close to 700 hp on boost from a d1sc procharger. But enough about the car. Time to move on to what this site is about.
My first work log will involve modding my xbox as I gather parts for my case mod on my new PC. I hope its ok to post a xbox modding log here.
I picked up a broken xbox on ebay for 5 bucks. It had been struck with lightening and was no longer useful. I didn't car as all I wanted was the case. I'm starting out with some simple flush mount plexi windows in the "X" on top of the consoles case. the one on the bottom right will allow viewing of the DVD / game in the DVD drive. More on that later.
The other windows will not show much but I plan on airbrushing something on the componets under them. I may create a plexi window on my hd when I upgrade to a 300gb once the mod chip gets in. This would deem one more of the case windows functional. For the other 2 I plan on using styrene to hide the internal components and airbrushing something on the styrene. I also plan on etching each window with something and lighting it all up with leds. I cleared the jewel and will be frosting it and adding a led "halo ring" under it.
That takes care of the plans for the top. As for the Internals. I plan on cutting a window in the DVD drive top so the DVD can be seen through the case window. I also plan on installing an Xecuter 3 CE mod chip and a 300 gb Seagate hd. I have lapped the heat sinks and applied AS5 to them for better cooling.
On to the front of the case. I plan on relocating all of the controller ports to the left side and installing the Xecuter LCD screen on the right side. I will also change the leds in the power / open buttons to blue / green and add hd activity function to them. I will also be shaving down the lines on the front and will be shaving the Xbox logo on the DVD drive.
The back of the case will stay pretty much the stock besides the fact that I am adding a slightly more powerful fan in there.
Ok time for pics of what I have done. I don't get to work on it much as I do work for a living and run my own construction company. So free time is a bit of a rarity these days. But please be patient. Let me know which paint design on the windows looks better.

After I finish mounting the windows I will smothe the edges with bondo (flat plexi in a curved surface) and paint to hide the epoxy. This is my idea for one style.

This is the second idea, It doesn't have to be like this but I like the curvy style of it.

Thanks for checking out my work log and thanks for having such a great site.
Edit: I thought I would throw in a few pics of a custom gauge cluster I made for my friends drag car.
