Hi, does anyone know where to get one of these cheap in the UK? or at least a place that ships to the UK. I need it to be flexible on as long a ribbin cable as possible. Thanks for any help :)

First off, welcome to the forums. By the name you must be a Red Dwarf fan! Smoke me a Kipper...

Secondly, your link needed work, so here is the pic.

These guys (http://www.adexelec.com/pciexp.htm) make and sell all kinds of adapters (including the one you're after iirc)

and these guys (http://www.hytec-electronics.co.uk) are listed as the UK distributor for those guys above

hope that helps, or at least gets you closer :D

Indeed as noted in this thread (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10885&highlight=riser+card) Adex make the biz you want. Just spoken to their salesman though ... ahem lol

£32 for the 3" cable PCIE16 riser +£2.50/inch for longer plus shipping (normally £15 but £10 for a one off) .... plus VAT @17.5%

soooo ....

3" flexi-riser is £49.35 +£2.94 each additional inch (up to 15" long)

15" one is .. £86.40 ouch (edit yes that's over $170 someone phone them in the states and see how much they want for one please ... I'd love to know)

:)

ps they have the 3" one in stock

I might could use one of those... flip the card over so that the heatsink is on TOP of the card and not the bottom... if I remember I'll look at where to get those in the US. Nice name btw. Red Dwarf is hilarious.

Im willing to bet by the time you flip your card to get better ventilation for more of an O/c the distance of the ribbon cables will have dramatically lowered your score.

Haha, you're probably right. I'll get a short cable one and try it out if I get some cash soon and get the card. Hmm...

£40 for a 3" extender (add £2.50 per extra inch up to 12" total) plus shipping ...

Not exactly cheap .. and it's the same product as posted earlier in the thread. Pricing structure is slightly different .... higher base price ..... so a 12" extender (maximum length) will now cost about £95 ........ i.e about £10 more as before and not something I would call cheap.
